to the NHL betters and experts are there any edges or advantages to know about how NHL plays preseason different from regular season

Maybe it's just me but it seems to be a really short pre season comapared to years past 

I know Gary has expanded the regular season with an extra 2 games for everyone to make more moneybag but I think the season is long enough as it is

 been betting NHL for dozens of years, and never bothered to try and figure out anything for preseason.  Teams are really just evaluating their 4th line/3rd D depth, and who they send to AHL, and giving some draft picks some ice to see what they got.  That makes it really hard to try to cap anything.  Lineups are typically not easily available either, although some teams post info on X and other outlets.  peace_5
