If the series goes 6 or 7 does he still win it if they lose? Like McDavid 2 years ago or JS Giguere in 2003?

Who would you give it to on Carolina? Maybe Staal? Should be interesting to see how this plays out.

Well Marner is a solid favorite and has been outstanding in the playoffs. He has 29 points after 20 games, leading the second placed player (Eichel) by 9 points. Unless somebody goes ape shit crazy scoring in the next few games, I don&#x27;t see how he loses the Conn Smythe even if Carolina wins the cup. Only chance he loses if someone on Carolina who&#x27;s in the hunt for the Conn Smythe comes up big the next few games.

I still think Marner wins the Smythe regardless. As long as the voters pick him 2nd at worst (out of 3) I don&#x27;t see him losing the award even if VGK bow out. The canes would need someone to be damn near unanimous on the team to garner the amount of votes needed
