Matt Petgrave charged with manslaughter in Adam Johnsons death....

The police in England are saying Petgrave intentionally meant to cut his throat with his skate. Adam played OHL for my hometown Owen Sound Attack and I was a season subscriber through his two years here. I never once saw him try to attempt to injure anyone. One thing he was was a unbelievable competitor would do anything to win and keep the competition off the score sheet. At the speed of hockey today (if you can stand to watch the video) what Matt was trying to do as he was cut off by one of Adams teammates was stick his leg out to stop Adams and at the speed they would be going as he stuck his leg out I'm sure Adam was trying to protect himself and in the process the skate rose and unfortunately caught Adam in the neck totally a freak accident Matt was not a dirty hockey player.

A "man" was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter... not charged 

They didn't have the arrestee but of course it's him. 

Where'd you see they are charging voluntary manslaughter?

And I cannot confirm it but it was said that he was the most penalized player in that league last year

@ Polar_Bear not sure if you ever played the game but like i said after getting picked by Adams teammate he simply stuck his leg out if he doesn't try to stop him that way Adam would have been clear to the net and Matt being the ultimate competitor his last ditch effort was to stick his leg out and unfortunately Matt running into Adams teammate made his skate rise higher than he meant and the freak accident happened plain and simple. Its not the same as driving a car they are moving at 30 kms per hr with no steering wheel and shit happens in that game.    I remember in a Jr hockey game in the OHL a center man got clocked at center ice his helmet came off he hit his head on the ice and killed him instantly.   I'm sure the player that hit him didn't mean to kill him its a tough sport and the same thing Bill Goldsworthy Minnesota North Stars hit head hits the ice and he died im sure who ever hit him meant to clock him didn't mean to kill him.

@ Polar_Bear you said you played the game all your life you didn't mention you were a lawyer and magistrate with all your jargon on what manslaughter is.   You put the skates on you takes your chances.    Just ask Buffalo Sabres goalie Clint Malarchuk he had his throat slit but was lucky enough to survive.   They didn't charge Steve Tuttle  for attempted manslaughter or recklessly not having control of his skates once again pure accident Matt was playing the way he played the game compete stop the competition anyone you can but not slicing someones throat.

Polar_Bear hes not my buddy he wouldn't know me if he tripped over me he played for my hometown Jr A hockey club. Everyone has their opinion on this I can tell you if I was playing and got picked by an opponent and the only way I could stop the puck carrier was to stick my leg out I would part of the game its instinct if you think that player is going to have a clear chance on goal. I truly think his skate got raised that high because of the pick. You have your thoughts on it and mine are different than yours leave it at that.

Rightfully should be charged and hopefully goes to prison for a while.
