IIHF World Hockey Championships

Hey everyone,

Love this tournament and traditionally it has been a good tournament to make some money on.

That being said I'm coming off an 0 - 3 day yesterday and a 1 - 1 - 1 day prior to that.

If you ML parlayed (OT included) the favourites your looking at -137 with Pinnacle.  Not bad. I think the USA will win and both home teams will win.  This is one of the best shots for Denmark to get a win.  That leaves the Slovakia / France game.  To me this is the one that could screw up this Parlay.  Slovaks should win but always seem to playdown to their competition.  I was expecting France to put fourth a more spirited effort against Canada but they may have been holding back a bit in order to play Slovakia today with the idea of having a better chance to win.  France took Finland to OT and Slovakia is coming off the OT loss to Austria so the motivation should be there with them today.

I don't normally do Parlays and I sort of made a case for maybe France to mess this up but its hard to see any of the faves losing today

I have not been overly impressed with Denmark.  In fairness the road does start to get a bit easier as they have played the 3 toughest teams in their group.  Still I expected them to be more competitive against the USA and Czechia.  They probably need to run the table with the rest of their games to make it to the Quarter Finals.  It's doable with Germany being the toughest remaining opponent.

Hey everyone,

Ugh! so frustrating but only the Germany game is available for me to play at Pinnacle right now and I have no lean one way or the other in that game.  I was looking at playing Finland in regulation on the puckline.  I'll look to come in live on that game possibly.

France Reg PK +142 (1u to win 1.42)

Austria has played everyone tough this tournament including giving Canada a go right into the 3rd period.  I look for some fatigue from Austria and combined with France having a day off to rest makes me like France to win.  I'm taking the 0 on the puck line.  Pays nice.  If it goes to OT than I get my money back. 

Norway Reg +2.5 +100 (1u to win 1u)

Day off for Norway and Switzerland coming off another multi goal win.  I think the Swiss win but Norway is coming off forcing the USA to overtime with a 3rd period comeback.  They will carry that momentum into this game.

Hungary +2 Reg -128 (1.28u to win 1u)

Hungary will see an opportunity to perform better against lesser opposition coming off of a beat down from Czechia.  Denmark has not impressed at all.  I see this play as more of a play against Denmark than a play for Hungary.

I am in and out following this tournament.  Doesnt appear to be much interest in this forum, so I appreciate the write ups!

I will be taking a shot at Norway +575 ml to be swiss, i think they got a great shot. THey hung with USA so not a bad bet imo..

also think there is value in USA outright at +900..the defense a bit suspect but with that offense i am not blinking on this number

I just found "Canada to win it all without ever going OT" @7.00 on my bookie, these odds are ridiculous I just don't see them losing any game or even a single period lol...

This tournament is lacking a little something compared to previous versions.  Both home crowds don't seem to nearly be as loud as you would find in maybe Czechia or Latvia.  Also surprised to see all the empty seats.  Even for the Canada games there were lots of empty seats.  Considering Crosby doesn't play in this tournament that often he would be a draw all to himself I would have thought.  Personally I have my sights set on the 2029 tournament in Slovakia.  Crowds will be loud and boisterous.  In general this tournament should be a bucket list for any Hockey Fan.  Just looking at the Beer Gardens alone is reason to attend lol Everyone is just having a really good time.  Good energy for sure.  

The France PK is now +117 but the other 2 went a little away from me.  Norway +2.5 now +107 and Hungary +2 now -117.  Denmark still only has the win over Kazakhstan and they took 3 penalties in the 1st period.  Maybe market thinks they will play a complete 60 and match the 2nd/3rd periods from the Kazakhstan game?

thanks for the picks-yeah Worlds is on my bucket list for sure; tends to fly under the radar with NHL playoffs but international hockey always good to wager and cool to watch hockey in other countries and gotta like beer gardens...
