Another good day yesterday going 1-0 adding another unit. Fortunate for a nice quick start yesterday which allowed this play to sail over less than 5 minutes into the 2nd period. Here's yesterday's thread.
Today:
Tampa Bay TT u2.5 (-115) 1u![]()
I'm really liking this play, and I might add Washington -1 as well, but I am finding it extremely difficult to pull the trigger on both. It seems that everyone and their mother is on Washington tonight. Although it's hard, I just can't avoid playing this one and have to pull the trigger. Alirght time to provide some reasons why I like it.
Tampa Bay heads on the road tonight to play the tail end of a back to back situation which saw them lose the first game 4-2 to Carolina. Tampa Bay's offense has struggled miserably this year, especially on the road. They are ranked #13 overall averaging 2.69 goals per game. On the road we see a drastic decline in offensive production where they rank #24 averaging an abysmal 2.13 goals per game. The Power Play all around is just horrible where they rank #28 in PP% at 13.35 and #29 in PP goals scoring only 19 so far this year. When it seemed it couldn't get worse, it does. On the road Tampa is ranked dead last at #30 in PP% at an embarrassing 8.4% and #27 with only 7 PP goals thus far. To add to their lack of offense, their defense has been beyond terrible. They rank #1 in the league allowing an average of 3.40 goals against per game. On the road, they find a way to perform even worse ranked #3 allowing an average of 3.71 goals against per game. Their Penalty Kill is a little bit better. They rank #24 overall in PK% at 80.1% and #3 allowing 33 PP goals against thus far this season. The road stays pretty consistent where they find themselves ranked #17 in PK% at 82.1% and #6 allowing 17 PP goals against.
Washington ranks #9 overall averaging 2.88 goals per game. At home we see quite a positive increase, where they rank #8 overall averaging 3.14 goals per game. Their Power Play is above average as expected. Washington ranks #9 overall in PP% at 19.0% and #14 scoring 26 PP goals up to this point. At home is where their PP is lethal where they rank #2 overall hitting at a 23.9% clip and #3 scoring 17 PP goals. Washington also improves all defensive statistics when playing in their own building. They rank #12 overall allowing an average of 2.88 goals against per game. At home we see a durastic increase where they rank #21 allowing an average of 2.38 goals against per game. Their Penalty Kill is lights out as well ranking #19 overall in PK% at 82.1% and #18 allowing 25 PP goals against thus far. At home we see another substantial improvement where they rank #2 overall in PK% at a whopping 90.2% and #28 allowing only 6 PP goals against all season.
Tomas Vokoun has been a tremendous addition for Washington. This season his overall stats are: 17-10-0 record, 2.56 GAA, .915 SV%. At home, Vokoun has been absolutely lights out: 12-3-0 record, 2.03 GAA, .925 GAA. Vokoun seems to increase his level of play tremendously at home, which will be a key to shutting down the struggling Lightning offense. Dwayne Roloson has had a brutal season thus far, and it might be time to hang it up at the end of the year after a great run. Overall his stats are: 6-9-2 record, 3.71 GAA, .881 SV%. On the road, it gets even worse: 2-6-1 record, 3.86 GAA, .888 SV%. Washington has been on fire on the road and I just don't see that stopping. They have held opponents to 1 goals over the past 5 home games. They have held teams to 2 or less goals in 9 of their last 10 home games. Washington's defense has been lights out, and facing a team who is completely lacking offensive fire power, there's no reason this shouldn't continue. To add to Washington's home dominance, Tampa Bay has been struggling miserably on the road, including losing their last 5 straight games on the road. Tampa Bay has failed to score more then 2 goals in 12 of their last 14 games. I love that Tampa is in a back to back situation on the road after losing the first game 5-2.
Will most likely bite on Wash -1 but we'll see. Might have one more play later. As always, Good luck everyone.![]()
Today: 0-2 -2.61u
It was bound to happen eventually, how ironic that it happens on Friday the 13th. Forced one play and got completely moosed on the other play. Tampa scores 2 goals in the last 3 minutes and a completely pointless one with 10 seconds left. It happens and will move on. Can't win them all and it was due to happen.
