#1 Bruins vs WC Red Wings - Season Series (Wings 3-1)I&#x27;m probably not pointing out anything that anyone doesn&#x27;t already know but the Bruins are the team to beat in the East. In fact it seems as though the Wings were really the only team the Bruins struggled against this season. They went 3-0 against the Rangers. 2-1 against the Penguins. 3-0 against the Flyers and also swept Tampa. Only team that I think MAYBE has a chance to beat the Bruins in the East is Montreal. And that is a slim slim chance. Looking at these two teams you have to give the edge in goalie to the Bruins. Rask hands down is one of the best in the league. Bruins play tough hard nosed hockey and they will grind you until you make a mistake. I know the Wings have won 3 of the 4 this season but playoff hockey is a different story. Bruins have been locked into playoffs for some time now. Meanwhile the Wings have been fighting to even get in. I think over time this will wear down on the Wings and they are just too outmatched against this Bruins team. Wings might steal 1 or 2 but that&#x27;s about it.GIVE ME BRUINS IN 5

#2 Tampa vs #3 Montreal - Season Series (Tampa 3-1)Don&#x27;t be fooled by the Bolts winning this series 3-1. 3 of the 4 games were tight 2-1 games which went to OT/SO and we all know how that goes. The shiitout is a gimmick and there are no shootouts in the playoffs. In my opinion Tampa has overachieved all season. The East is a two man race with Boston and Pittsburgh and the Bolts are here just because they gotta take 8 teams for the playoffs if you want my honest  opinion. This team can&#x27;t play defense, their goalie is hurt and even if he wasn&#x27;t hurt I still couldn&#x27;t back this team. Who&#x27;s gonna score for these guys when it comes time to play tough playoff hockey? Stamkos can&#x27;t win it all for them. On the other side for Montreal you have Carey Price who is having a great season. Montreal plays the kind of hockey that can take you through the playoffs. And as I said earlier they are the only team who can maybe beat Boston. Give me the team with the better goalie and the better defense.MONTREAL IN 6

#1 Penguins VS WC Jackets - Season Series (Pens 5-0)Well well... If the Penguins would have gotten any other team in Round 1 this write up would have been a lot different. If they faced the Wings or Flyers I would have probably picked either of those teams over the Penguins. Flyers for sure Red Wings maybe. When the Penguins are healthy nobody can slow down the scoring and especially not the Jackets. Malkin might not be back in time for the 1st round but even without him I like the Penguins over the Jackets. After that first round scare last year against the Islanders we would like to think that the Pens will be all business and learn from their mistakes. Also the Pens are usually good for 3 or 4 goals a game and I don&#x27;t think Columbus can keep up with that pace. Nice season for Columbus but they don&#x27;t have what it takes to hang with the big dogs. Only way they have a chance is if Fleury completely implodes and Bobrovsky plays lights out. They might win one but I highly doubt it. PENGUINS IN 4

#2 Rangers vs #3 Flyers - Season Series (Tied 2-2)What a match up we have here. Probably my favorite in the East. I can see this series going down to the wire. A tough series with plenty of hitting and exciting hockey. Flyers have really struggled at MSG but I think they will finally get over that streak of losing and have some success in NY. Hoping the Flyers can win a few in NY and then bring it home where they are 2-0 against the Rangers this season. The Rangers have one huge advantage here and that is at goaltending. The King is head and shoulders above Mason. However I like the Flyers offense a lot better than the Rangers. Special teams could come in to play here as the Flyers have the #8 PP and Rangers have the #14. Rangers and Flyers rank #4 and #7 respectively on the PK. I see a tough physical series coming down to 7 games. Could go either way but I&#x27;m going to lean Flyers here. Which would then lead to an epic Flyers vs Penguins series in Round 2.FLYERS IN 7

Hookem..Agree with all winners but the Flyers. Think home ice will play a slight advantage. Boston will go 6, Habs will go 5, and Pens will go 6. Game 7 in the Rags/Flyboys match-up. Of course that is just my opinion and we ALL have those. What about your West?

PENGUINS IN 4 BJ&#x27;s remind me of "we are just happy to be here" Robert Morris in the NCAA Hockey tourney. it is a victory for their club and fans to just make the playoffs the 1st time in their history. unless Bob steals something, probably IS a Penguins "walkover" Red Wings are the LAST team the Bruins wanted to see 1st round. doubt it will be Bruins in 5 esp IF everyone healthy for Detriot. dmsr320 is an obnoxious azz and an embarrassment to true RW&#x27;s fans BUT makes a point. RW&#x27;s BEEN playing "playoff hockey" the last month just like last season when they upset the Ducks 1st round. as I said in a couple other threads, I think the WINNER of this series wins the East and plays for the Cup.

I don&#x27;t know about the Penguins winning so easy, Bobrovski is a goalie that can steal 1 or 2 games in the series and also you know how Fleury struggles in postseason play, yeah they (Pens) swept them in the season series, but 3 of the 5 the Jackets had their back-up goalie and the first 4 games were played when Columbus wasn&#x27;t playing as good as they are now... in fact after their 4th meeting vs Pittsburgh they went on to have a 26-14-3 record... over a 17-18-4 record they had through that game.&#xD;&#xA;I think it goes at least to 6 games, and it will be more competitive tan most people think, just like last year&#x27;s sries against the Islanders
