In 2001 (in Ichiro&#x27;s first season), the Seattle Mariners hosted the baseball all-star game. The fans stuffed the ballot box. Of the 9 starters named by the fans, 4 were Seattle players when only 1 or 2 of them "should have been". If this game isn&#x27;t in Ottawa, Alfie and Michalek are nowhere near the top of the voting list. And, as solid of a season as Karlsson and Phaneuf are having, neither should honestly be in there ahead of a guy like Lidstrom.

i personally couldnt care less if craig anderson made it and i dont think many players especially someone like lidstrom cares if he starts or not. wasn't it a few years back many missed the game for "injuries"?

An argument can be made for Karlsson and MAYBE Phaneuf. But Alfredsson and Michalek over Sedin, Sedin, Kessel, Stamkos, Malkin, Toews, Datsyuk, Campbell, Weber and others? No wonder I never watch the All-star game anymore.
