Why did Cards let RB Conner play today?

So he had a monster game last week, injured his knee (possible hyper extension) and never returned. Cards were eliminated from playoff contention last week when Chuba scored TD in OT. Conner had signed a 2 year extension during the season and he and McBride basically carried the offense this year. And in a meaningless game today vs Rams, you recklessly put Conner in there and he had 6 touches before leaving game, but never returned.....due to knee injury. Hello McFly.

Between Cards stupid roster decision today and Zac Taylor incompetent late clock management, I just don't understand how some people make such bone headed decisions without losing their jobs sooner rather than later.
