3rd Qtr 13-7 Patriots. 3rd & 8 and Welker drops the football in Ravens territory that would have given the Patriots a 1st down and then who knows.

It was an easy catch.

No big deal...Baltimore just goes on to outscore the Patriots 21-0.

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't Wes Welker cost his team the Superbowl last season because he couldn't catch a crucial pass late in that game?

huge play.  may not have made a difference, but it certainly could have been the difference in the game is welker keeps that drive going because Blt came right down and scored after that.

brady friggin up clock management in first half didn't help either but i actually think the welker drop wsa the biggest play of the game.

NE doesn't play defense well enough to make those kinds of mistakes anymore.

The last line of your comment probably sums up the Patriots season (and the last 8 years) better than ANYTHING I have read on covers in maybe the last year.....

Welker catches the football it's a 1st down. Patriots would have been in the red zone and with the momentum they had it would have been 20-7. Baltimore then goes down the other end and make it 14-13.

The reason why Welker didn't catch that pass was simple.
Since, The Pats were screwing him by not giving him a new contract, he was like screw this imma just make you guys lose.

Never mess with a man $$$$.

Well its too late they should have made him happy and franchise him at the start of the season. Believe me the Pats are not gonna waste their money on him. They only saying that to give him hope. Pats like to use and abuse their players then throw them away like trash.

Welker got hammered earlier.. I think he was hearing footsteps..  The Raven defense is hitting like in 2000.. gonna be interesting

yea i would say Welker has seen his last reception in New England... 2 easy catches that dramatically changed the face of the football game... the one he dropped in the Super Bowl would have ended the game almost for sure...

when he dropped that pass yesterday, i immediately felt like it was a huge drop...


as a Dolphins fan... can't say i feel bad for him... went and played for a bunch of cheaters, and never got a ring to show for it...

i agree completely!  can make a very strong argument that it was the most important play of the game...

He's done in New England and he should be. He was a big reason they lost the Super Bowl last season and along with a soft defense, he was a big part of why they lost to Baltimore yesterday. He's dropped far too many passes at key moments over the last two seasons to demand any more than the league's minimum salary.

last couple week. welker has made some amazing catches... im talking about really hard nice catches... but someone reminded me couple days ago that he drops A LOT of easy passes.....
