First off, I just want to say Happy Holidays to all! I enjoy coming on here and reading many of your posts and analysis and I hope we all finish the year strong!
Had a big card last week and ended up finishing 7-5 for the week.

Week 16
All leans for now...let me know your thoughts?
Jacksonville -7
Fighting for the playoffs, home game and a good matchup for their run game.
NE / Buff OVER 44
I don't care what the weather will be as we've seen what Brady can do in bad weather. Buff "D" won't give Brady any trouble and we all saw how the Pats "D" played against Flynn. Buffalo should be able to get 14+ points.
Detroit +3.5
Detroit is a covering machine and have been playing well lately. I know it's a tough spot going on back 2 back Florida trips, but some player quotes this week from the Lions have me convinced that their confidence is very high right now and they are developing an attitude that they are tired of just getting close and are ready to start pushing back and win games. Either way, I think they cover.
Oakland +3
Tough to go against Manning in a spot where the Colts need to keep winning, but Oakland is fighting for the playoffs as well. Again, the matchup is what I like as the Raiders can run the ball well and should do so against the Colts. I know the Colts held down MJD last week, but they were at home. Freeney and Mathis are very good players, but I don't feel they are as effective outside the dome where they become slower (and are already undersized).
Denver +3
I like this game for 2 main reasons
1. Both teams are out of the playoffs, but I think only one has given up...the Texans. They had very high hopes this year, especially after beating the Colts early on. I think they are devastated and have nothing to play for. The Broncos on the other hand have been out for a bit now and have moved past that thought. They are now playing for a job for next year and have new enthusiasm from their QB.
2. Finishing on the 1st reason, I'm buying into the Teebow hype. He brings an excitement to the team (offense) as he gets his chance to prove he can play in this league. He's not bummed they aren't going to the playoffs...he's excited to be playing! He also gives the opposing defense something extra to prepare for as he can move the ball with his feet.

This is a big number and I've tried to stay away from these this year in the NFL, but I can't lay off this one. Pittsburgh is still fighting for the division with Baltimore so I'm not buying them looking past the Panthers this week as I've read in some other threads. You don't look past anyone in week 16!
On a short week like this you always here coaches say that they will shorten up the playbook. This usually means there's more emphasis on playing good defense and running the ball. To be successful, the Panthers need to run the ball with Clausen at QB. They've finally found their running game but this week will be tough against the number 1 rush defense in the league. Not being able to run the ball will lead to many 3rd and longs which will put Clausen in position to face blitz after blitz. I'm betting he won't handle it well. Conversely, the Panthers have been playing some decent defense, but it's been against the pass. They are ranked 23rd against the run and the Steelers are 8th in the league rushing the ball this year.
I can see the Steelers shutting out the lowest scoring team in the league on Thursday and running the ball effectively. Even without Troy and with their suspect pass defense, I think the Steelers force a minimum of 2 Panther turnovers and cover easily.

Tough week so far. Thought both overs looked good, but Buffalo couldn't stop turning the ball over and Houston couldn't get a FG with 3 minutes to go and the ball. Oh well, still have Philly pending tomorrow night and for tonight...
