Jacksonville is coming off a much needed bye week. Their past 5 games have been against teams with a combined record of 30-13 record. The Jacksonville defense held its own in every game including a win against Baltimore where they held them to a touchdown. Now they get to face a struggling Colts team who got blown out by Atlanta the past week and are second to last in total offense and defense. Jacksonville’s fifth ranked total defense will hold its own and Jacksonville’s lethargic offense will be able to create enough points to beat the spread. Conclusion, Indianapolis is one game closer to getting Andrew Luck.
Houston -3
Houston is on a roll winning their last three games. It is impressive when the starting and backup running back rush for over a hundred yards each in a game. Houston is ranked number one in team total defense. Tampa Bay has a solid team, but they are coming off back to back losses and statistically Houston has a big edge.
Statistically Carolina has a big edge. Carolina is also at home coming off a bye week. I expect Cam Newton and Steve Smith to have huge games. Tennessee is 1W-2L on the road this year and in their last 8 road games they are 2-6 ATS.
Statistically, this match is pretty even. Wow, the New England Patriots lost two games in a row!!!! Hate to hurt the New England fans, but it’s about to be three. Fresh off a bye week the Jets looked like they were out for blood against Buffalo. They made at the time 5-2 Buffalo at home look like they haven’t won a game all season. Here are a few important statistics to look at. The Jets are 4-0 at home this year. New England is 2-2 on the road. The most important statistic is New England is dead last in the league in team total defense. Although I am not a fan of Mark Sanchez, this will be enough to give him a descent game. Sunday Night football, the Jets will be hyped.
Minnesota +13.5
Minnesota is feeling confident coming into Carolina with a win. The team has been competitive as of late. They are beginning to have a balanced attack as they are comfortable now at QB with Christian Ponder. Minnesota is heading into Green Bay off a bye week. Green Bay has to come back home from the West Coast as they escaped a win against San Diego. Although Green Bay is offensively the most impressive team in the league, they have been showing as of lately defensively they are vulnerable. I will take the near two td’s.
Cleveland -3
Statistically Cleveland has a big edge. Defensively they are ranked sixth in team total defense. This will be huge as we know St. Louis rides or dies with Steven Jackson. St. Louis is 0W-4L on the road this year and has lost every game by more than 3 points. Although I am not a big fan of Cleveland I am going to follow this trend until St. Louis proves otherwise.
Chicago -2.5
Chicago has won their last three games and the last two were on the road. Jay Cutler has looked like one of the more impressive quarterbacks in the league as he has shown he can create plays out of nothing and with Matt Forte they have a well balanced offensive attack. Mathew Stafford is a vulnerable QB. This match between the lions and bears will be without Lions running back Jahvid Best who had a big impact in the lions home MNF win. The Bears defense will have no issues stopping the run. This will cause many 3rd down situations for the Lions in which the Lions are 30th in third down conversions. Unless the Lions consistently throw to Calvin Johnson they have no shot in this one.
