I rate the passing games virtually dead even; SF's passing DEF edge as nearly as big as KC's passing OFF edge. SF has a rushing edge in both OFF & DEF.
Teams that rushed over 200 yards 7-0 in the Super Bowl. Chances are KC will stuff 49ers' rushing game so let's see if Kyle Shanahan can muster a game plan to counter it and break that 200 yards rushing mark. Good luck!

Game MVP (Bud Carson who had created the great Steelers' defenses of the 1970s was the defensive coordinator for the Rams and his Rams' D stifled Pittsburgh til late in the game when Bradshaw harpooned them).
Bradshaw came up big when called upon in big games as he was 4-0 in the super bowls he started and yet his name is never mentioned in super bowl lore and yet he belongs in the discussion. Great players come up big in big games and Terry Bradshaw was a great player.

There are many who agree with you and guys that I respect as handicappers too like Tony Dungy, Rodney Harrison, Phil Sims (in super bowl picks only) who all favor the 49ers this week. They see it as you see it...
Can the San Fran D wear down this Chiefs D? IMO, KC's D is better than you think they are especially during the second half of the season. It took a while for the new Spagnuolo run D to work. Injuries hampered them also.
When Houston jumped on top of KC a few weeks ago, it wasn't for any lack of play on the D that caused that eruption. A blocked punt ran in for the td and a botched punt return near their own goal line led to 14 of those points. A definite blown coverage for that other early score...
The wins by SF over Minny and GB were impressive but it begs the question...are those two teams in the same category as KC? A lot of the guys who primarily follow the NFC think the Vikes and Packers are superior to the Chiefs which is where the wheels fall off the wagon.
This year there have been games where SF has had feet of clay...against Seattle twice, Atlanta, Baltimore, Pittsburgh (could have beaten them sorry BB)...yeah, they jacked up Baker Mayfield but he had no Oline blocking at all that game...it was hike the ball and a run for his life. In your wildest drunken dreams, do you think that this is the way it will be versus KC?
BOL to all on SF, they are a great team that has had a great run and I am impressed by their play but the Chiefs are no slouches.

Chances are KC will stuff the Niners rushing attack. Based on what? 26th rush D. Please don’t point to the Titans game where they were on their 4th straight road game and had zero passing attack other than a generic hand off to Henry. Niners run game is built on speed, power and scheme and nobody has stopped them.

Last year I bet against Mahomes and with teams that I thought had good defenses and he tore them and me a new one. I get it, #15 is the great destroyer. The fate of KC rides on his shoulders, so why is that any different from what has been the case for two years now? We are just not used to seeing it that often.
He is to the Chiefs what Unitas was to the Colts, what Jim Brown was to the Browns, what Montana was to the 9ers...this QB thing is second nature to him.
This might be an epic game...

49ers have rushed over 238 Yards/game in the playoffs this year. If they could repeat that performance tomorrow, it may well get them into the 8-0 Super Bowl champions elite.
