Not taking a time out before the punt to conserve 35 seconds of clock...

Running a running play on first down...

    Clock down to 19 seconds...

    Takes a time out...

What the absolute hell....is this a real head coach?....

Conservative Shanahan will run this out and go to the locker room...could have had a shot at scoring but doesn't want to take a chance...

PM for the skinny on the down low

jimmy g's last pick spooked him. happy to go into the half tied knowing they are getting the ball in the 2nd half.  A turnover down there before the half could cost them the game.

2nd half total opens at 26.5 and immediately both team totals and game total get steamed to -125 and -130 on my book on the over

Up 8 vs Patriots.. In field goal range after a circus catch by Julio.. decides he wants more yards instead of 3 runs that would chew up clock and kick likely the dagger FG to seal Superbowl..

Chiefs took a timeout.....At least he was aggressive there..as the cheifs thought 49ers would run the ball on 3rd down....Almost got points there..

Shanahan doesn't trust his QB.  Quite simply, far more faith in his defense

We'll see...so far this game is going exactly as Shanahan wanted and it was clear he was happy to keep it tied going into the half...I believe the Chiefs will be going for every 4th down that is reasonable...if they get a little bit of a lead I can see Shanahan tightening up that sphincter and getting nervous...

And pulling a Shanahan and losing the game just like he lost the SB for Atlanta...

Nah it's not a good move imo. Jimmy still unlikely to throw an int on a drive especially after that 1st one, you're just leaving an opportunity to move the ball on the field. Very limited amount of chances to score on offense you need to take that opportunity

Dude why u tripping...Shanny played it right...You have Mahomes on the other side with all 3 timeouts...You run the ball on 1st down and play conservative..if they had gotten a 8-9 yard play..they most likely open up the playbook....If Andy called a time out after 1st down run..they would throw on 2nd down and try and score...

chiefs will not be going for it every 4th down. This game should be 10-3 at the half. They won’t be taking risks like that going into the 2h. It speaks volumes when Shanahan doesn’t even call a time out with 3 left.

I dont agree with this argument but it is a case for him not calling the timeout. With the kick from the 50 yard line if the ball is downed at the 1 or 2 yard line then what....

It shows the coach have no confidence in the QB ! I’m so surprised that Andy Reid is more aggressive than him .

The fact that the 9ers D get them the ball back but the coach doesn’t even want to take a 3 or 7 points lead into the half makes me scratching my head . His father is a way better coach than him .

I’d hardly call an RB angle route aggressive.  I just think they got lucky and defense allowed them the big gain

Clock management was horrible with 3 timeouts! A number of even decent QB's could have gotten their team down the field for at least a field goal! That scares me being on the Niners! If they don't win, Shannahan will get roasted by Lynch. Even he was calling a TO from his luxury suite!

When you have a chance to take the lead but you want to play conservative and runs out the clock in the tie game with so much time left ....... it will come back and bite . You expect your D to stop PM every time ? You must be kidding me .

I have the 9ers and I’m not happy at all .

LOL...I can only imagine if Shanny did call timeout under 2 minutes and Chiefs pinned the 49ers inside the 5 and they went 3 and out gave the Chiefs a short field and the scored...He would be getting roasted here..
