The eagles - maybe it wins but not this week - the NFL is cyclical and I’m in the cowboys +3 and ML
I dont know about that. Dallas is a pretty popular "public " team and they are coming off a game where they completely dominated and looked amazing on both offense and defense with the added players.
Philly is coming off a snoozefest game where they looked horrendous and somehow won 10-6.
Im betting Dallas is way more popular as a home dog here to the average bettor

100% correct and for two huge reasons. One is that people can’t help but bet on what they just saw. Think about last week as an example- Tampa took the public money based on what happened in the Miami game, sharps hammered Buffalo and Buffalo covered.
Another reason is something that I’m convinced is true and it’s that the oddsmakers are making lines that entice the public bettors to take the dogs. It seems to me that underdogs have become the new public side a lot more often. I’ve been suckered into a lot of bad dogs this season. I’ve also laid some ridiculous numbers with the favorites and I can promise that I’ve won a lot of those bets. The “public dogs” on the other hand have crushed me all season.
The Philly game is a perfect example. Why on earth would you back Dallas in this spot? If they win or cover I’ll be glad to come back and eat my words, but I don’t see why Philly doesn’t steam roll the cowboys this week. Don’t be surprised if the conversation after this game is “Phillys offense is back on track! Saquon had a 100+ yard game, AJ Brown and Smith went off, and Jalen Hurts looked outstanding!” This might just be the game that Philly puts all the chatter to rest with their underperforming offense.

phillys offense not on track this year. i think OC makes a huge difference with them. first shane steichen made them look good. then brian johnson took over and they had a great season and lost to the bucs in the first round that year. kellen moore comes next and they win superbowl. kevin patullo offense reminds me of brian johnson offense. i think eagles gonna disappoint this year in playoffs. the O line is weaker and def more due to lane johnson injury. push tush got stopped multiple times this year and shaquon is not matching the same magic as last year.

Great write-up on the increasing amount of 'public dogs' and how 'laying the big numbers' bets are covering. I am certain you are onto something. Personally, I am convinced this partnership with the gambling industry will explode in their face one day.
However evil has a sinister way of sticking around this planet these days and right never seems to triumph over evil anymore. "Wrong forever on the throne and right forever on the hangman's scaffold". (Martin Luther King/James Russell Lowell)

Just seems to me that lines are much more often 3.5 and 7.5 these days. And it’s hard to find a flat 3. Always seems to be 3 -120/+100. I think the books know that the spread doesn’t really matter much and that the common outcome is often that the favorite wins by blowout or the dog wins outright. So they’re Constantly dangling the hook in front of your face. I’m slowly smartening up. But then again I’ll probably get whacked again come Monday night with Carolina +7.5 ![]()

Since I live in southeastern Pennsylvania, I am one of the few that hate the Eagles and all their fans. Born and raised her, I live amongst Eagles fans and have dealt with them my whole life. They're rude, over confident and assholes.
I for one, would love to see them lose against their most hated division rival, the Cowboys or as I call them "The Boyz."
I don't bet on any Pennsylvania team anymore due to my ongoing "curse" with ANY Pennsylvania team. The sports betting curse consists of: When you bet with them, they lose. When you bet against them, they win.
So I will refrain from betting on the Cowboys and will just be period checking up on the score with the hope that they are losing and will lose in the end.
Win or lose, this game will not affect me a financially. If the Boyz win, I will have the satisfaction and distinct pleasure of seeing the sad faces on Monday when I go into work.
Best of luck ladies and gents on your Cowboys wager.. ![]()

They definitely know that the spread doesnt matter that much. I used to always just bet spreads but now I bet spread plus ml and alt line almost always and my return is much better. I basically never bet a dog on the spread if its +3 or less, I just bet moneyline or -1.5 or -2.5 alt line, sometimes up to -5.5. Im on Arizona today but not taking +2.5. Im on Cincinatti too, but I did take +8 in that game just because the chance of them losing and covering is much higher on anything over +7. But I still bet ml on it too.
