Remember this time last year when the replacement officials were botching every call and losing control of the games? This reffing may be bad, but it could be way worse.

I used to think the NBA was rigged for the home team, but the NFL has taken it to another level
So what's the problem? Start betting on the home team if you think this is true. Heck, bet the moneyline if you don't like giving the points. If what you say is true, you'll clean up.
The problem is, what you say isn't true. You have no idea what you're talking about.
People who claim the NFL is rigged should be able to show a profit year in and year out. Just bet on the team it's rigged towards.
What's that, you say? You don't know in advance WHO it's rigged towards?
Then as far as your concerned, it's still a gamble, isn't it? Sometimes you will win and sometimes you will lose.
Again, people who claim the NFL are rigged have no idea what they are talking about.

That's why the NFL disclaimer states that it is for entertainment purposes only. Even if you purchase a ticket to a game, you are paying to watch the two teams stated on the ticket to play a football game, not a fair football game. To think a game like professional football is completely fair is beyond being ignorant, it's being really dumb. Each play in a college or pro football game involves a holding penalty, but its up to the refs to call it. Understanding that a lot of wagering events have the ability to be tampered with will give you a better insight to capping.

That's exactly it! Everyone who claims that the league is rigged is always on the square plays. Every time they complain that New England didn't cover because of a penalty or Green Bay didn't cover because of a missed fumble, etc... You'd figure if this were true, why don't these people just bet against the public teams and make a killing off this "fixed" sport lol

It happened in Dallas too. These last two weeks have just been wacky. I have been on the good end of a lot of team and qtr totals but the actual outcomes of spreads especially this week is just incredibly crazy. All but 2 games within a score of win or tie? I am pretty sure there are a lot of going around right now.

My favorite conspiracy talk is when a team covers on a miraculous, last second play, and my friends will say, "Vegas made the call."
For example, I remember a long time ago when the Jaguars blocked a Steelers field goal attempt with no time left and returned it for a touchdown. The Steelers were covering at that point, and would have covered the game regardless of whether they made or missed the FG. The only way that the Steelers would not cover was if the Jaguars somehow scored a touchdown. And that was what happened when the Jags blocked the FG attempt and returned it for a TD with no time left. After the play, I heard a bunch of my friends say, "Vegas made the call." "NFL is rigged."
Of course, if you think about it, if NFL was really rigged, why would "Vegas" wait until the last play of the game to "call in" the rig? Why not have the game decided before the last play? Or how does Vegas "rig" it to where a nearly impossible play is executed to perfection just for the Jags to cover a spread?
The idea that nearly all NFL or NBA games are rigged to rip off gamblers is ridiculous. As has been mentioned by some on this thread, if it were that simple, why not just fade the public and make a killing?
I do believe that rigging happens sometimes, but not nearly as much as conspiracy theorists think. If a game were to be rigged, it would not occur on a last minute, miraculous play.

Its a business.. A big one.. They will shut off the lights.. they will suck you dry.. They will give you light but still suck you dry.. Give you more light.. Then suck you dry again.. You can't keep away.. Because its in your bones... Reporters don't report.. They make up stories.. Players don't play.. They follow rules and shut up... Yet they all get paid.. Even the water boy...
