If it was fixed or scripted, don’t you think a retired, fired, or disgruntled ref or a member of his family would have blown the whistle? This would effectively end the NFL. And make it a pro wrestling type of sport. 2. How exactly does this work? Does Godell meet with all refs for all 16 games every week and say, “Ok we are going to let this team win. So push the calls their way. Take the Bills for example. When they came out of the gate as well as they did was their whole season scripted. Did the league push calls their way and then decide to pull the rug out from under them? 3. Taking the refs out of it for a moment, the Bills last two losses were a direct result of poor coaching, and yes some bad calls, but more on that in a second. Against the Pats the Pats threw the ball 3 times…3. I saw no defensive adjustment until late in the game when they finally stacked the box. Agains the Bucs, Bills had zero Carrie’s by running backs in first half. Also never blitzed Brady till 4th quarter. Everyone knows if you put Brady under constant pressure he is not as effective. Getting back to the refs, if you want to stop this nonsense about the games being fixed, here’s a couple of solutions. 1. FULL TIME REFEREES! I have always felt, due to bad refs, that the league should employ full time refs. Not these part time lawyers, and businessmen. Hire full time refs, and during the off season have them hone their craft. Study film, get in shape, learn how to work together. The fact they don’t have full time refs is killing many peoples opinion of the legitimacy of the sport. 2. Add a challenge for each team and make pass interference, defensive holding and personal fouls reviewable. I see a lot of missed calls also. But mainly because the ref is out of  @BookBeater   Much respect for you and the well thought our post above ..Brother    I never said it was " scripted " ,...Strongly believe on average 1-3 games a week are manipulated by the refs ... And yes I think Roger or his shills tell the refs to keep a game close , and or help a side to victory if needed in a game .. ... This goes far beyond my beloved BILLS , I can't believe the NFL puts out all22 for us to see their blatant manipulation....That Steelers vs Bears game was one of the worst cases ...The Roughing the qb on a Tannehill INT in endzone vs the Saints was one of the most shady  game changing flags of the season... The Bills coaching staff gets a F grade for in game adjustments...They're lucky the refs allowed Morse and Dawkins to blatantly hold on Singletary runs in the 3rd and 4th or they never would have gotten back into the game ...But when it came down to the BILLS winning at the end of regulation there was no way they were going to let them score a TD ..The egregious non  PI on Diggs in the endzone was comedic gold ... I'm all for rules changes , but as the NFL has shown us over the last decade they'll just add more subjective waffling rules that make it easier to manipulate the game ...   Great to disagree  FAM  really appreciate the response..

I'm all for rules changes , but as the NFL has shown us over the last decade they'll just add more subjective waffling rules that make it easier to manipulate the game ...   Great to disagree  FAM  really appreciate the response.. Agree 100% @DoubleUp4Life  Got it. I waited a little too long and had to take it -130.[/Quote]

a member of his family would have blown the whistle? I like your parlay and might jump into the fun. It’s amazing how this year it’s going to come down to the last week for home field advantage. Good luck with your play. By the way, I left you a pm.

    @BookBeater

Your full of it with this ignorant post. Bad referees. ?????? hahahaha keep believing that inane outlook.

    1) they’re never held accountable for anything. Taken care of by Vegas and NFL. That’s why they’re not disgruntled.

    2) 31 teams share merchandise sales but ALL 32 are one unit.

    4) NFL or pro football originated from bookies.

    5) NFL stated in court they’re an entertainment like WWE and that if they rigged the games ppl would still watch and you’d STILL BET! Prove anything I said as wrong. I’ll sit and wait. But you CANT!

Really, it is as simple as...

How willing are you to say "I dont know" to random events.

Some humans need to assign a reason to everything that happens around them - religion, luck, fate, conspiracy etc.  Some humans accept that things happen that we don't understand and are OK with that.

Where you are on that scale determines where you are on this "NFL is fixed" debate.

My opinion is that anything is possible, but having fixed games on a weekly basis is HIGHLY improbable and much more likely that there are dozens of humans all doing things that lead to decisions that are less than perfect on the field, none of which are scripted or planned - but just speak to the difficult nature of making decisions at high speed.

Thank you for the well thought out response my much respected brother

It's not about being able to predict random events , for me it is all about what I see with my own 4 eyes ...Every year the nfl creates new shady subjective rules to make it easier for the refs to manipulate any game they choose ...

The new taunting and Roughing the passer rules are some of the most subjective BS rules you could imagine ...The players taunt /trash talk after almost every play , now the refs can choose to throw the flag whenever they feel like..Even worse with the game play shifting to more passing the dedensive penalties are called so inconsistently ...

I started noticing a big difference in the officiating around 2000-2001 while attending games ...I've long been a fan of bringing binoculars to sporting events to see the gane with a hawk's eye view ( My pops and his buddies did this long before me ) ...it became more and more obvious to me  that the refs were not throwing flags on blatant penalties to keep some games close or to help a desired team to score on key drives ...While penalizing some teams on key offensive drives and or needed defensive stops ( you get what I'm saying in these run on sort of sentences, lol)  ...

When they started allowing  us to rewatch games on all 22  almost a decade ago it sealed the deal for me that on average 1-3 games per week are manipulated by the refs....I strongly believe the league directs them to keep some games close and or at the same time possibly help a desired side to victory if they need it ....

I'm fine with disagreeing with you or anyone else on the ref manipulation,  but I can't be quiet about what my eyes are seeing clearer than ever ...I keep am old school notebook of all the plays or games that appear to be fishy that impact a scoring drive and or outcome ...

Best of luck this weekend Brother ...

Absolutely love when we're on the same side...

Please tell me you're not fading my boys across the pond on Sunday?? ( Liverpool)

If it wasn't rigged, fixed and scripted we wouldn't be hear talking about it, CAUSE THE HOUSE WOULD LOSE EACH AND EVERY TIME. Watch the videos below and tell me if you still think NFL is legit... Do the research, and question yourself..

If it wasn't rigged, fixed and scripted we wouldn't be hear talking about it, CAUSE THE HOUSE WOULD LOSE EACH AND EVERY TIME. Watch the videos below and tell me if you still think NFL is legit... Do the research, and question yourself..

There is no point on rigging anything. If it's true that the house would lose every time, they would simply adjust the juice. If the average bettor hit 60% of his bets the juice on a straight bet would be -150 and we would be willing to pay it. Actually higher.

    Colts -2 -160

    Patriots +2 -160

That is how they would fix things if we all hit 60%. That is much easier than telling multi millionaires they have to lose. I am sure there are gambling refs like donaghy making calls to favor themselves. I am sure that kind of thing happens but to say NFL is fixed. No way. This gambling thing Vegas and the books have going on is the biggest racket in human history. No need to "fix" a perfect racket. I have seen every Monday night, Sunday night, Thursday night several hundred threads opened at covers with nothing more than a guess. A -110 coin flip. The degeneracy on display at covers on these NFL prime time games is nothing short of astonishing. No, it's not the NFL who needs to "fix" something.

I don't think sports gambling has anything to do with the manipulation..I believe the refs are told what to do in certain games by the league ...These OT games in prime time and national TV games seem suspect sometimes...It's obvious to me that they help a desired team to victory ..

You could give sports gamblers +100 and 90% of us would still lose ...an_roll_laugh Sports wagering us a tiny drop in the bucket compared to slots ...Most sports gamblers have almost zero discipline, wagering on way too many games  for the action...I've noticed at the betting terminals many gamblers are not smart enough to avoid 3-7 team parlays ( can't imagine those gamblers win more than once or twice a month) .

I sometimes check  losers left on the tables (mostly  $50-500 parlays with far too many selections)...About a month ago I found a $68 , and $180 winners ..lol ..

BEST OF HEALTH, HAPPINESS,WEALTH, BLESSINGS and LUCK TO ALL !!

Like the parlay double up! I agree with the nfl being scenario focused and big picture. The nfl and really all sports publicly getting in bed with “official partnerships” to gambling sites is shady and really just more greed. Willing to risk their credibility and open themselves up to league wide speculation instead of individual officials being suspected. In all actuality I’m becoming disinterested in nfl mainly due to my 2 points. I’d rather watch college but anyhow… Good luck to all!
