Absolutely love the COLTS this Saturday.  At 7-6 they should be in all out desperation mode for the WIN , while the Patriots have a massive look ahead game vs the BILLS on deck.

Hopefully "Crooked Carl Cheffers" was placed in control to help the Colts if needed, or the sports entertainment business just let's the better team win ( the Colts an_roll_laugh)..

Find it  comical that one of the other shadiest refs in the league was given the BILLS vs Panthers game  ( "Clete the Cheat Blakeman ")..

Look for next week's BILLS AT PATRIOTS game to be the defcato AFC EAST championship ..

Look I get it, many of us covers Brothers want to believe that the NFL is a contested sport,  however It's legally a sports entertainment business .

....If you think there is NO holding in my avatar,  then I have a bridge to sell you an_roll_laugh..The obvious pass interference on the BILLS last regulation pass into the endzone was even worse .......Last week's national TV game was the prime example of how the NFL manipulates games .. In a whopping 494 Josh Allen passing attempts the defense has only been called for 2 holds ( both by Xavien Howard ) . The BUCCANEERS get more Dedensive holds in 1 quarter an_speechless

    MORTGAGE INVESTMENT PARLAY

    $1200 to WIN $1,503

    COLTS -114

    BILLS -500

Up around $12,900 over the last 4 weeks ( all sports ) , but this is the most I could possibly stomach to lay down on sport entertainment events ( NFL).

Long time and I do mean long time gambler and Covers user here. Although I quit posting due to childish nature of some posters…anyways…

I have to respectfully disagree. I have this conversation with my Nephew, who happens to be a Bills fan and also swears it’s fixed.  IT IS NOT FIXED.

    it is bad refereeing. Period

    1. If it was fixed or scripted, don’t you think a retired, fired, or disgruntled ref or a member of his family would have blown the whistle? This would effectively end the NFL. And make it a pro wrestling type of sport.

    2. How exactly does this work? Does Godell meet with all refs for all 16 games every week and say, “Ok we are going to let this team win. So push the calls their way. Take the Bills for example. When they came out of the gate as well as they did was their whole season scripted. Did the league push calls their way and then decide to pull the rug out from under them?

    3. Taking the refs out of it for a moment, the Bills last two losses were a direct result of poor coaching, and yes some bad calls, but more on that in a second. Against the Pats the Pats threw the ball 3 times…3. I saw no defensive adjustment until late in the game when they finally stacked the box. Agains the Bucs, Bills had zero Carrie’s by running backs in first half. Also never blitzed Brady till 4th quarter. Everyone knows if you put Brady under constant pressure he is not as effective.

Getting back to the refs, if you want to stop this nonsense about the games being fixed, here’s a couple of solutions.

    1. FULL TIME REFEREES! I have always felt, due to bad refs, that the league should employ full time refs. Not these part time lawyers, and businessmen. Hire full time refs, and during the off season have them hone their craft. Study film, get in shape, learn how to work together. The fact they don’t have full time refs is killing many peoples opinion of the legitimacy of the sport.

    2. Add a challenge for each team and make pass interference, defensive holding and personal fouls reviewable. I see a lot of missed calls also. But mainly because the ref is out of position or just plain misses or mistakes what he saw. We have replay….fucking use it.

Again, I respect you double, you’ve been around as long as I have. But if you or anyone else really believes this is scripted why on earth would they bet on it? Can you script a great one handed catch. Or a Hail Mary. Or an onside kick. It’s not fixed but there are issues with the refs and have been since I was a kid. And that was a long time ago.

When they came out of the gate as well as they did was their whole season scripted. Did the league push calls their way and then decide to pull the rug out from under them?

    Well said.

Some people just need a reason to explain why they lost their bet, and the easiest excuse of all is that the game was fixed, or the system is against them.

Unfortunately, the most obvious of all arguments against games being fixed or scripted is your point #1. They can't answer it, because even the most delusional of the conspiracy theorists have to acknowledge that it would be implausible for not one single person to have ever come forward with proof that these things are happening.

I never said it was " scripted " ,...Strongly believe on average 1-3 games a week are manipulated by the refs ...

And yes I think Roger or his shills tell the refs to keep a game close , and or help a side to victory if needed in a game .. ...

This goes far beyond my beloved BILLS , I can't believe the NFL puts out all22 for us to see their blatant manipulation....That Steelers vs Bears game was one of the worst cases ...The Roughing the qb on a Tannehill INT in endzone vs the Saints was one of the most shady  game changing flags of the season...

The Bills coaching staff gets a F grade for in game adjustments...They're lucky the refs allowed Morse and Dawkins to blatantly hold on Singletary runs in the 3rd and 4th or they never would have gotten back into the game ...But when it came down to the BILLS winning at the end of regulation there was no way they were going to let them score a TD ..The egregious non  PI on Diggs in the endzone was comedic gold ...

I'm all for rules changes , but as the NFL has shown us over the last decade they'll just add more subjective waffling rules that make it easier to manipulate the game ...

Bookbeater, just cause there is an on side kick or hail mary that is successful, that means a game can't be manipulated by the referees. You don't think in the games Donaghy officiated that there wasn't some great plays being made, but that didn't stop him from getting the end result he wanted. You don't think leagues have had influence on refs or officials to make sure certain teams or star players(Jordan,Bird,Magic) advanced in the play-offs,or to extend a certain series in the play-offs to make sure it goes as many games as possible?

    It is holding.

There is holding on every NFL play.

Fans only remember the holds that go against them.

How many receivers get hit after 5 yards. How many receivers push off.

All Equals out on long run, except if you are Saints

Well to play devils advocate the ref involved in the Bears  vs Pitt game and who made the call vs Clay for bumping into him was fired because of that game and previous calls..  Ques he was not let in on the scripting deal or he is very very loyal to a employer that fired him.. Or afraid of the NFL script  "goons"... Lets see keep quiet and loyal or make MILLIONS spilling the beans..  Take one for the team easy call.. well...   Who would not chose silence..  peace_5

Knowing this league,he will be the next so-called "rules expert" on network broadcast's.The new Gene "Chicken" Cacciatore or whatever his name is.The league and networks have realized how messed up it is,they needed to bring in a rules expert to every broadcast,to explain what the rules they will be enforcing this week are.And half the time they go to the so called rules expert, the rules expert's opinion is wrong(imagine that). This is the league that still can't definitively explain to it's fans what a "catch"is.Every call or rule is now a judgement call(Pass Inter,Taunting).Replays must be conclusive to overturn whats called on the field, until there not,and there overturned anyway.

My post wasn't directed at you, more so the growing amount of the 'game is fixed' crowd.

That is holding in the pic in your av, and should have been PI on the 3rd down play at the end of the game.

That just goes to my point that it is bad refereeing. Some teams seem to get the benefit of the doubt (Steelers), but I believe that is a result of a slight inherent bias that some refs have.

If individuals were fixing games or scripting games, just one of those individuals coming out with proof would make them more money than they could possibly earn in 3 careers of being involved with the NFL.

It does not equal out when Allen has 494 passing attempts with only 2 defensive holds drawn and Brady is awarded 4 in just one measly quarter

The new taunting and Roughing the paaser rules have miles of Grey area ...Most subjective bs in sports...

Last year Diggs had several catches without his hands ...I've seen others do the same this year and it counted...Andrews caught one with his legs that was disallowed ....

Every year they add new subjective rules ...It's like a casino that adds new shady table games with better odds for the house

I don't know where you can get -114 on the Colts ML.

Patriots are +120 just about everywhere

I guess I should have shopped around better, I'm seeing better prices on the Colts now. I laid -130 could have gotten -120. Oh well.

The Pats could beat Indy, LOSE to Buffy, and then win vs Jax/Mia and still win div even if Bills go 4-0 down stretch.  So while you claim next week will decide the AFC East, it very well may actually be the game THIS week vs Indy and the injured Allen vs a good Car Def.  Buffy playing at home where they lost to the Steelers, Colts, & Pats already. PLus they have losses @ TB, Tenny, and JACKSONVILLE!!!  So the Pats are really in the driver's seat here and the win this week is MORE important than the Buffy game next week.

Also, you know Belichick is going to have the entire Def ready to stop Taylor and they will leave it up to Wentz to try and win the game which I don't think is something many have confidence in. Belichick's M.O. is to focus all DEF on the other teams best player which is Taylor.  So the Pats will be all in on this game.

I posted about this bet in another thread on Sunday afternoon..Stating the Colts were going to be my largest wager of the season...Went to Seneca within the hour they were released on Sunday...Colts were -1.5 +100 and ML -114 ...I jumped on the ML but had some concerns during the covid era that anything could happen during the week ( still have concerns )

That is so subjective...One play it's an obvious fumble , and they rule incomplete ..The next time around the obvious dropped passed is ruled a fumble ...

Anybody could beat anyone in the NFL ..

I rate BILL B as the best coach in the game,  especially at in game adjustments on the defensive side of the ball...I'll be forever grateful that his masterful performance in SB 25 won me my first car with the locally inflated spread and ML here in Buffalo

Of course the Pats could beat the Colts , I just don't think it happens ...Seems to be in the best interest of the league to have this division tighten up as 3 of 8 already have a wide margin..

Pats are in the driver's seat , but if they lose to Buffalo and one other team , the BILLS will own the tiebreaker if they win out ( Car, Atl , NyJ ) ...

    Best of luck Fam
