Good call on Smerlas. The front of the Bermuda triangle, w/ Haslett & Chicken legged Shane Conlan. Whatever happened to him? I thought he'd have a career in broadcasting for sure. He was a character.

Not sure what happened to him ... I have only seen him return to the area once or twice since his playing days ...I Love reading what O-Lineman have said about Fred... Sounds like he brought it every play... even when the Bills were getting Killed....

 thank you for all the info this season DU4L. Best of luck to you on the SB. Personally...I have Steelers ML +120....(bet them to win the SB when they were playing the Ravens)....also have Roethlisberger winning the MVP +175....don't think I will need to bet anything else. DoubleUp, I have seen so many post where you talk about your bad spelling, and grammer.  WTF!!  Have you seen other peoples post here?  Seriously, some dont even make sense.  Yoru grammer and spelling are great.  Win or lose, have a fun weekend bro!!  Go Steelers!!

i have gone round and round on this game and have found good arguments to bet either team ... this is what i've settle on as reasoning and would like your opinion.
 
1. the playoff game the steeler/ravens played felt like a playoff game. there was a hightened level of play. you could feel it through the tv set.  i didn't get that from the cards/eagles game.  that being the case, arizona will have a more difficult time getting up to game speed or slowing down the game (whichever you  prefer). advantage steelers
 
2. everyone talks about how hot the cardinal are ... you'd have to be an idiot not to see that. what most don't see is that the steelers have won 7/8 and covered 7/8 coming down the stretch. they are not stumblin, bumblin into the playoffs ... they are peaking too ...
 
3. the extra week off will hurt the cardinals.  when they take the field they will be wondering/hoping/wishing that their team is still in the zone with it's new found running game and defense.  conversly, the week off will help the steeler. they need it to regroup physically and mentally from that hard hitting, smash mouth game they just played in (if not for the extra week, i'd be all over the cards). they will be walking onto the field ready to play their game, aggressive and hard hitting. cards will be thinking about lots of other stuff.
 
4. the opening kickoff in the steelers/ravens game two dudes from the ravens (very physical team in their own right) had to be helped off the field. one tried to walk over to the steelers bench and the other had little cartoon birds flying around his helmet singing skip pit tee doo dah ... my point is that the cards are in for the most physical game they've played all year ... i wish this was a prop bet ... at some point in the first half the camera will scan the cardinal bench and two guys will be looking at each other like "we're not in kansas anymore" ... physicallity (is that a word?) goes to the steelers.
 
my prediction of how the game will go: steelers up 14 or 17 zip at half.  the cards may be able to regroup and cover but i doubt it ... after the game everyone will be looking at each other saying, of course i bet the steelers, ha, the cardinals weren't shit, come on man, it was the cardinals ...
 
i could give plenty of reasons why the cardinals are the better bet and to be honest, it wouldn't suprise me if they won the game straight up (especially with warner at qb, that dudes a gamer). but i'm not bettin for funsies ...

Damn Double long time no speak on my end...I've been working like a mad man...I don't have time to look at covers literally!!!  I didn't put $1 on any playoffs games.  I may have come out of my degenerate gambling habits!  Not so fast my friend I am back.  For the Superbowl, I am going with Cardinals.  Really can't give any insight but it's just a feeling.  Moneyline too!!  Looking forward to seeing you soon.  Best of luck with your picks man.  You made some serious dough this season!  I can't believe my last football pick of the year would be against you.

Thanks Brother ... you are right , there are alot worse people with Spelling/Grammer etc on here ...But mine can be horrible sometimes... I put alot of time into Capping and breaking down games and I only wished it looked better on paper for others to read ... BOL Brother on all your Wagers...

Agree I think The Ravens/Steelers Game was more intense..The Cards have jumped out to huge leads in their last 2 games. i am not sure if this will hurt the Cards in a tight game

Agree again Both teams are HOT right now ... I feel the Cards shut it down during the regular season when the rest of the NFC West fell off the Map (say week 9)...The Steelers O-Line and the Cards Defense are playing the best they have all season ...

Im not sure how the Week off will affect the Cards , I agree that they would have rather played the SB last Sunday..The Steelers needed the week off for sure bc of the reasons you mentioned..The Spotlight of the SB and all the Hype might have the Cards confused but I am not sure

Yes the Steelers are much more Phyical IMO as well

You could be spot on with the Steelers taking a huge early lead.. If that Happens and the Cards are in Pass only mode it could get really ugly ... I think it will be very close in the 1st Half maybe a FG game ...

I see a very tight game in the 1st Half .. Both defenses will make key stops and hold each other to Field Goals and or Punts  Pittsburgh 13-10 at the Half...  the 2nd Half will open up with longer plays with both teams completing Deep balls ..
I don't see the Cards being able to run the Ball and that should hurt them in the 2nd Half ...It would not suprise me to see the Steelers sacks pile up in the 4th qtr.. The Back Door Cover could be wide open for the Cardinals..
