Tough game to call but I give GB the edge here. Plus the SB champ has won their week 1 game each of the last 9 seasons. I just hope GB wins by more than a FG.
All Plays are listed in order of how much I like the plays, but the same amount is bet on each game.
Week 1
Top 5 Plays
Det +1.5
Det is one of the top 3 most improved teams and TB looked horrible in preseason. With Stafford back and the additions to the Defense, Det is better on both sides of the ball.
Pit +2.5
This is a tough one but I think Pit has the edge. Big Ben just looks a little sharper than Flaco right now. I also didn’t like what I saw out of Balt’s OL this preseason.
Hou –9
Ind is without Manning, and Hou’s defense looks much improved, Nuff said.
Den –3
Den should be much better now that McDaniels is gone and they have Dumerville back. Plus there is a nice little revenge factor here. (Plus GB –4)
Other Plays
Stl +4.5
This is the most interesting game to me and I’m glad it will be on nat’l TV. Like Det, Stl is a top 3 most improved team. Stafford should continue to improve and will be helped by the addition of Dahl to the OL. Stl also made some nice additions on Defense. Phi has a new DC and that may have a negative impact early on. I see Phi winning by 3 and a Stl cover.
Jets –4
This play looks better now that Newman is out. Dal’s offense will be back to their 2009 form but I think the Jets D will be too much for Dal to handle on the road.
SD –8.5
SD didn’t look sharp on either side of the ball in the 3rd preseason game and McNaab stilllooks like a better than ave QB. SD has stumbled early in recent seasons, but they also win a lot of blowouts at home. My system likes it so it’s a play.
