Similar situation... I have a teaser pending with Balt +3.5 tonight. I have $650 at risk to win $500. I was thinking about hedging the bet which I have never done before. It would cost me $145 to win $650 for Jac ML. If I did this here are the possible scenarios:

Balt wins:

I win a total of $355 vs. $500

Jac wins by 3 or less:

I win a total of $1,150 vs. $500

Jac wins by 4 or more:

I break even and don’t win a penny vs. lose $650

Unless you are thinking the line will move, there is no reason to put a third team in a parlay if you are going to hedge. You just wind up paying juice to the book twice.

If you have to play a parlay, make sure that all games start at the same time. If the last game is on the next day, you are better off having the money from the first two games in your pocket, so you can decide exactly how much you want on the third game.
