COOLEY SAYS TAYLOR IN COMA AFTER SURGERY by Michael David Smith

Redskins tight end Chris Cooley told the media that his teammate, safety Sean Taylor, is in a coma after six hours of surgery today.

Per Jason La Canfora of the Washington Post, Cooley said that the latest update he heard about Taylor's condition was that Taylor spent six hours in surgery after being rushed to the hospital with a gunshot wound and is now in a coma.

"It's a tough thing right now," Cooley said. "I feel for so sorry for Sean and his family."

Cooley said that Santana Moss's mother is at Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital, where Taylor was taken after he was shot, and that Moss's mom gave the team an update from there. Moss and Taylor both grew up in Miami and played at the University of Miami.

La Canfora reports that Redskins owner Daniel Snyder read a brief statement:

"On behalf of the Redskins, the players and everyone here at the Redskins, our hearts and prayers go out to Sean and his family. Myself and a group of Redskins are on our way to Miami. I really don't have any details other than what everyone else has been reading and reporting ...Our hearts and prayers are with Sean and his family."

The whole thing seems really weird. He lives in the same suburban neighborhood as my parents. There are rarely break-ins or serious crimes for that matter. I'm almost positive whoever shot him knew whose house they were entering and didn't expect to find him there.

i have a ST jersey, and i am wearing it. i dont give a fuck about who thinks hes a "good person" or not, nobody deserved that. the man plays with heart, and the man is exciting to watch play
 
i happen to think this is retribution for the dude he shot outside that night club in miami a couple years back

FYI, taylor never shot anyone.  He brandished a weapon at the guy who stole his atv's.  Man you are one irresponsible punk.   You put down a guy who's near death and then make up lies about him.

ESPN outside the lines just reported Sean is out of surgery, non responsive,  Unconscious and his lawyer said he is most likely not in a coma.

He's a good kid, I think his dad is the chief of police of something somewhere in Florida.  His only real incident will the cops that I remember is yelling at some people who believed stole his SUV, of course he did have a gun in his hand, but who wouldn't.

He woke up to see what a noise in his house was and was shot as he opened his bedroom door, I hope when they find the guys who did this, they have to use dental records to identify their bodies.

I just heard it was the Second Robbery Attempt at his home in a week.  Whoever shot him knew who lived there and knew he was there.

Of course the future will probably reveal that this was a  drug deal gone bad or payback for Sean raping someones sister.

At 1:00am Taylor and his girlfriend heard noises , He picked up a machete and went to look. The intruder missed him with the first shot then struck him in the groin with the second.  I just posted above that it was the second robbery attempt in a week at his home, they reported no one was home at the first attempt
