When Moss has to defenders covering him 40 yards downfield, doesn't that open up Welker to catch his 100+ balls per year?

getting virtually anything for Moss was a great deal for the Pats... Brandon Tate right now is a better NFL WR than Randy Moss...

actually yeah he burned the best cornerback in 15 years in week 2 on a deep ball. so ya i think cbs are worried.

And by the way, Moss will now have a guy who has thrown a whole lot of touchdowns and set a couple of passing records throwing to him.(since you are interested in stats)

yup same team that was ahead at half time in the afc championship last year when 28 teams were watching the game from there couches. yup

I think they traded him because he doesn't fit into the offense.  He is a great receiver and all but I think his routes suck.....He's long and lanky and can only run straight.......He just does not fit into the Pats offensive playbook.....His stock is high so get rid of his ass......Its a win win situation for both teams in the trade

The trade makes sense with their respective teams' philosophies. But to suggest that Moss doesn't fit into the Pat's playbook is just ridiculous. He averaged more than 15 Tds in first three years playing for them. He's still one of the top receivers in the game so any team would improve by having him on its roster.

We all knew Moss was coming back to where he belongs.  After him and Favre feel each other out for a couple games, it's gonna be a sick combo.  Can't wait

Kind of where I was going with the 4-0 start last year start off good and just peter out. Because in the end they aren't quite good enough yet and still haven't won anything since Broadway Joe was at QB.Holla!

N.E. may be averaging 122+ yards per game, but that was with moss stretching the field. We shall see how important a deep threat is. Im guessing your average will drop to under 100 yards per game.

Moss, play out your damn contract that you agreed to with NE. Im glad the Pats didn't cave and give him an extension before he fulfilled the original deal he said he would, it sends a message through the locker room that you better perform and not cry to the media and act like you dont wanna be with you teammates anymore. Be a man and play out the contract that you "put in ink"...see Vince Wilfork

Moss deal makes sense for the Vikes in the short term, but will come back to hurt them in the long run.

On the flip side it hurts the Pats in the short term, but will help them out in the long run.
***Just for the record, the Pats may take a week or two to adjust on Offense, but if they struggle, IMO it will be more because of the loss of Kevin Faulk than Randy Moss. Brady has played without a deep threat before, so even though he will be seeing more Safety help, it isn't something he's never dealt with in the past. Not having Moss certainly hurts, but its def. something we can recover from. Moss was a valuable asset, but hes not the key piece to our offense, Brady is and hes still there, fully recovered from his knee injury (which he wasn't last year).

As people have pointed out, Pats have something cooking for this upcoming offseason w/ the affluent amount of draft picks.

On a side note, best athlete in NFL history, Jim Thorpe deserves to be in EVERY conversation.
-Olympic gold medalist in Decathlon, Pentathlon.
    -Played baseball and football professionally.

Someone forgot to tell the Vikes that they  should not cut the greatest athlete to ever play in the NFl........
