Congrats snowman on a solid night but your no Scalabrine. He's the "Don King" of covers. Scal just knows how to promote his threads starting with his titles, "POUND this beefy game like your Emeril Lagasse standing over it with a meat tenderizer!." Maybe if you're nice to Scal, he can teach you the tricks of the trade so you can promote your picks like him.

As you drive with that envelope of hard earned taxed cash think of whos picks caused your unpleasant car ride. I gave you 3 winners in a row AFTER this crappy JETS Scalabrine debacle.  Do you like fairy tales or getting paid??  I mean really who bets on the Jets???  The trend is your friend

    THE SNOWMAN

        Raise the chalice!!!

You denigrate with one side of your mouth and contradict yourself with the other

Those "elaborate superfluous" write-ups ARE SOUND pre-game, the result yet to be determined.

The argumentation for a side? Cogent and convincing.

And the amazing part is that I almost never get a contrarian stance that is even remotely credible.

Therefore, you weigh the evidence before you and take a side. And the substantive evidence is heavily in my favor.

There wasn't a SINGLE poster in 250 posts and 10k views who offered me a sound reason Indiana would not get eviscerated.

Now, this is not an excuse but let's be forthright and genuine: OSU does not turn the ball over to ANYONE, never mind a defense as abominable as Indiana's THREE TIMES in the first quarter!

So there has to be other factors. There HAS to be a cause for that effect.

And my goodness, when I turned the game on I thought I saw the Pharaoh of Egypt in the stands, god reigning down hailstones the size of toads on the OSU team, a miracle of nature to effect the cover.

When you lay 35 points, everything has to go right. The weather obviously took away a quarter and close to a half of dominant OSU ball.

Hyperbole? Yes. But the ball was slippery, the field without solid footing, perhaps even a microscopic glaze of ice on the ball to make it slip out of the previously wholly dependable JT Barrett. What else can explain what occurred? This is not Jets Bills, two NFL teams. Indy is on the fringe of a D2 team. You don't hang with a potential national champion at home like that. It could happen I guess but the weather was clearly affecting the game.

Indy is so incredibly bad beyond its run game I don't have enough words to describe their ineptitude.

And even at that, they STILL put up 42. I was expecting a 50-14 final. 3 turnovers later the 35 point cover is dead. Not enough time. If I get a quarter and a half back, we cover.

I am 99% convinced that if that game is played in normal November weather the final would have been 56-7. So to sit here and go "he's making an excuse again!" Is being disingenuous. You didn't even watch the game and you're trying to correct me!

I capped Indy fully? Did you? I capped OSU fully. Did you? I wrote it up to help others. It failed. There will be others that will win and lose. Shocking isn't it?...

Capt. Douche, you good sir are owed a debt of gratitude for the numerous laughs I have had the past 24 hours.  Thanks to you both!!!!

All I can say is the Bills looked like they wanted the jets in that game early. Bills scored as a result of a 24 yd punt for their only score of the half. Then they were held scoreless until 30 seconds in the 2nd quarter.

They wanted to give it away.

But fuc kin Vick wanted no part of that game.

    Then the floodgates opened.

Scal so often you remind of the scene in Step Brother’s where Will Ferrell ate the white dog poop, if only you could sing?

You're doing this nonsense to bust balls, right?  Just to aggravate your detractors? Right junior?  Because you can't seriously still be trying to defend this bad bet.  Maybe they will play it again in "normal weather", whatever that is in the month of November.  If you are serious about these ridiculous excuses, you are becoming the idiot of the site.

Scal you are pretty popular, you can probably type 1000 words per minute but at the end of the day, you cannot seem to produce winners.

    Sorry bud.

Look at the bright side, you can work for ESPN or TMZ

@capt - I'm more interested in Skip Bayless's job. He is the Kim Kardashian of that entire network.

@jep- you have no idea what you are talking about. I'm 4-3 in CFB and 5-6 in the NFL. .500. Average. It'll get better.

@Rod - how about a normal cold windy November ohio day. I get it, instead of HAIL, I get a different outcome. It lost. It was a bad result. I was laying 35. I deserved the loss. But I can't come back in the thread at 10am and say BUY OUT when I see that their fog and ice on the field.

Absolutely on Vick.  He literally looked like he couldn't be bothered to be out there.  That is bad news against my Buffalo defense which eats QB's for breakfast.

Excuses Excuses Excuses,  you don't get to cap a game that never happened or a game you want,  you cap the game you've got, the more you write the more it is obvious your capping is lengthy addled sophistry that adds up to the EXACT results you anyone will have with a coin flip. You have literary skills of an appellate brief writer or a nerdy wordsmith but sports capping i don't see.   I offer the
SNOWMAN SCALABRINE CAPPER CHALLENGE for the next 10 games

college and pro football,  you can write up your turgid pile of gobbledeegook and ill pick my usual,  All of the watchers can follow, bash, kiss your hack fanny, hate me,  love me, i dont care,  starting today,  NEXT 10 games     All i want is for all of us to WIN!!    LETS GET THIS

Capping contests of cap offs are the quickest way to prove NOTHING that was ever invented.

Why would you think Scal (or anyone for that matter) gives a $hit if they can cap better than you??  Be happy you are picking/posting winners and offer some insight into your picks, or constructive counter points to others, that have the forum to do this.

I fail to see in any capacity how challenging others here (not to mention for a measly 10 games) does anyone any good.

Everyone has their own style.  It's not about how you get there, it's just about winning.

Capping contests of cap offs are the quickest way to prove NOTHING that was ever invented.

I offer the

I was in the box all weekend and couldn't comment, but the first thing I would have said is that Indiana, while they get dominated in the W-L aspect of the recent series, actually hold their own ATS with the last 4 years games being decided by 3, 14, 28, and 19 respectively.   Last years 52-49 should have indicated that this was a no play as some teams just are able to hang around with good teams, so 35 was a bit too much.... also with Michigan on deck, pretty much screaming "no play"

Yeah sure. I'll write up 10 games and you'll just pick and post yours. How convenient for you.

A blind monkey might beat Billy Walters over ten games if you wrote the team names on a banana and had them picked out of a barrel.

I'm not sure if you're the blind monkey or the Walters in that scenario, but if it's the Walters you are, it's Barbara not Billy.
