Tom Brady will be ...wat.. 32 years old next year? How many more serviceable years will he have? Not to mention that he's coming back from a season-ending injury and out of football for an entire year.
Look how long it took Manning to get back up to speed (I am not so sure he's 100% the way he under-throws the ball), and his injury was less severe. Look at pre-injured Carson Palmer versus the current sorry state of Carson Palmer. Ditto for Daunte Crap-pepper. People assume that Tom will be 100% next year, that's a tall assumption.
It took Brady two seasons before he started clicking. People forget about Brady's second season, where he was sub-par. Cassel has been very impressive in his first season (despite no running game and a piss-poor defense). You don't simply let that kind of CHEAP (relatively speaking), YOUNG, MOBILE quarterback go. I think Brady will be the starter with the understanding that Cassel will likely take over in 2-3 years.

you guys are on crack..forreal, to say that bill bellichick will REPLACE BRADY FOR MATT CASSEL is unheard of..yes he's gettin a lil old but hes still good for couple more years.....cassel is only doing good the other people around make him look good..such as the likes of randy moss (catches anything that comes his way), wes welker who also catches anything but doesn't have the height like moss does and he gets the most yards gained after a catch....the offensive linemen are beast...put matt cassel in seattle, or 49ers and see what happens...PLUS you have to give credit to bill because he is an awesome coach and can turn a 6th round draft pick or high school qb into a probowl caliber qb

This shouldn't even be a discussion. Give Cassel Caldwell and Gaffney as your starting WR or Patten and the over rated Branch and see how many superbowls he wins. Yes coaching helped out but Brady is one of the best if not the best under pressure and hits his targets like no one else. He makes people look a hell of alot better then they really are.
End of discusion
As for Cassel he will be getting the by many teams and then Laid by some supermodel next year...
