Both harbaughs are excellent coaches and more importantly, great people. Vernon davis said it best, hes like family to these guys. So genuine and true... The thing that shocks me is the niners favored. I thought for sure we would be pk at best. Never any west coast love and now this... Gonna have to think bout this one

They are playing in the NFC championship. Why dont you throw out some stats and show me just how much of a joke they are. Make all the excuses you want to rationalize your pick but Alex smith has only thrown 5 picks all year.

9ers are FOR REAL, people do not realize this is the same damn team from last year. 6-10 last year to 13-3, difference is the coaching philosophy and instilling the confidence to our QB, and drafting a young hungry pass rusher (Aldon Smith) and subtracting Nate clements and adding Carlos Rodgers. i love all the disrespect they continue to get, please more people HATE on my niners please!!!!!!! hate them into the superbowl, because we ALL know what happens when this team is in the superbowl, they get RINGS. 5 times there, 5 times striking gold. LETS GO FRISCO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brady, Brees are better than both of them by 10 mile, what is your point?

Better Coaching......not sure about that. too small of a sample size for harbaugh. coughlin is no slouch.
Beast defense aganist the RUN....gmens defense is clicking right now as well. They dominated the packers who got their td bc of a bad call. not counting the garbage time pack td they did great. better than the 35 the 49ers gave up
Enoguh offense; has only been outscored by 3, 10 and 2 points

<<< Noop it did not; Packers were rusty to say the least.  Packers, however, had an extended layoff.  Their last meaningfull game was about a month ago, against OKLD on 12/11.  G-men lucked out with the late season schedule as their last four games (including playoff game vs ATL) were at home.  Not the case this week.  From NY -> to WI-> to New York -> to Cal.  Extensive travel and less practice/prep time; advantage goes to the Niners>>>

@home.....gmen were better on the road
<<< Correct.  They won @Phi, @Az, @NE, @Dal, @NYJ.  They Lost @Was, @NO and @SF.  Throw away the "road" from @NYJ.  It is home game.  Their wins @Phi, @Az, @NE & @Dal were not very convincing.  Yes, win is a win and they deserve full credit.  But @Phi, Vick goes out with a broken hand in the fourth qtr and in comes Mike Kofka at QB and his first play/pass is an interception.  @AZ, gmen were down 17-27 with ~5 minutes left and end up gettign two TD's in 58 seconds.  That was aganist an AZ team implementing/learning a new defense which AZ did not get better at until 2nd half of the season.  Late win @NE as well.  An imporbable catch by Ballard with seconds to go.  We all likely remember the game at Dallas.  Dallas led 34-22 with ~5 minutes to go.  Again, they were all comeback wins against good teams and gmen deserve the credit.  They COULD NOT, however, complete the come back against the Niners.>>>

Better Coaching......not sure about that. too small of a sample size for harbaugh. coughlin is no slouch.

<<< Good point.  It is small sample size. Coughlin is certainly a respectable coach.  I dont know if Coughlin has impacted a team for such huge turnaround but let's say that cocahing is equall>>>

Beast defense aganist the RUN....gmens defense is clicking right now as well. They dominated the packers who got their td bc of a bad call. not counting the garbage time pack td they did great. better than the 35 the 49ers gave up

<<< Agreed on gmen defense.  I posted before the Packesrs game that gmen are the hotter team.  They are healthy at DL, LB's and RB's.  That game against the Packers was essentially the fourth playoff game for gmen.  G-men were not as healthy at LB's when they played the Niners earlier so that is a concern.  Niners did not have Gore for the 2nd half of the earlier game.

I would not compare what Niners gave up in points (32) to NO vs what G-men gave up in points (20) to GB.  NO's offense performed heriocally; GB offense (RB's, WR's, TE's in particular) were pathatic.  They dropped numerous, placed in their bread bucket, wide open, catchable balls.  IMO, this thread would have been SF@GB had half of those catches been made.>>>

giants are hot. defensive line is playing great. Nicks and Cruz are unstoppable. the running game has come to life.

<<<Absolutlu, they are hot.  Same goes for the Niners. While no one is unstoppable, I heard/read the same about Brees and his arsenal to be unstoppable.  They almost were.  I would say that Brees and his WR's/TE, collectivly, are better than Eli and his WR's/TE.  Niners have been stout against the run all year.  I doubt that would propel Gmen vs the Niners>>>

<<< by a mile may be a stretch but cannot argue on that with conviction.  Eli has been better than Alex.  I supported Alex for the first few years but was not in his corner the last couple of years.  I thought Harbaugh was making a crucial mistake naming Alex the starter.  As the season went along, Alex has shown consistent improvement.  Recall the game winnig TD to Vernon Davis vs NO; the old Alex, already in the FG range to tie the game, would not have even attempted that throw.  Most Niners fan do see a different Alex but preciption remains as is>>>

I have no ?'s left in this 49 team. If Alex Smith was the weakness on this team I think we can all say he is not anymore.

This team is strong in every aspect of the game. Their passing game and red scoring issues has come together which was their only weakness up to this point.

This team is fully healthy and seems to have everything going right for them right now.

Then gain so do the giants. But I believe the 49's are more balanced overall as a whole.

Giants are a great road team and love to come in and upset. They are playing their best football right now.

    Tough game to cap.

Good points and agree that it is tough game to cap.  I am hearing that it may come down to a pick'em or even gmen giving points.  Obviously, my lean is towards the Niners but I will likely wait until game time.

Giants win. Reasons why..Last game no Bradshaw, no Osi, Boley hurt midway and the game changed. The Giants are red hot and the Niners great D beat exactly who during their last 8 games? Look at the games played and you will see they beat no one with an OFFense that is close to the Giants. The Giants play very well on the road, the Saints are awful. The Giants will win this game fairly easily...and face the Pats in the SuperBowl. The reason the Niners are favored is because they are home...the line will get bet down to 1.....Wait and see.....Oh and Blackburn wasn't even with the team in the first game....

I think this game is going to be a tough one to call, and it should be close, so I like Teasing the Giants, especially is the line moves to +3.

Right.. such a hot road offense that they committed exactly how many turnovers?? The Saints beat themselves with their awful defense and their T/O. We will see how the Giants compare this time with the Niners..The Giants team at full strength this time...and the Saints were exactly how good on the road this season?? They are virtually unbeatable in their dome..on the road...a different story..

BYW...the Saints scored how many points off the vaunted 49er D? The first good offense that they had played in weeks..and they were toasted. The Niners exploited a poor Saints D...won't have that with the Giants
