New England -3.5
Kind of crazy laying this much wood in a scrimmage but I like how the rotation sets up for the Pats. Brady will probably only play a few series but Jacksonville's defense still stinks IMO. After that Hoyer comes in who is a very underrated preseason guy who can beat 2nd stringers. As a Pat he has a 96 QB rating in the preseason and the Pats are 3-1-1 ATS in games in which he's played the majority of the snaps. He's only thrown 1 preseason pick as well. Mallett comes in after that and I've read some reports saying he's looked pretty good. His situation is a little different than Gabbert because he'll be playing against 3rd and 4th stringers while Gabbert will be starting the game and playing against 1st stringers. I'm not expecting much from Gabbert even though it is preseason I think he'll be a little jittery. After that it looks like a heavy dose of Todd Bouman as Luke McCown is banged up and may not play. Yuck.
Denver/Dallas OVER 33.5
While the sentiment seems to be the offenses are way behind the defenses with most teams I think we see some points here. The QB depth and rotations of Romo/Kitna/McGee and Orton/Tebow/Quinn are probably the deepest 3 or 4 in the whole league. 5 of those 6 started regular season games last year and Quinn has a lot of starts under his belt as well. Both defenses are undergoing a lot of changes and I'm not sure two weeks has been enough time to make them good yet. Both 1st sting defenses are also expected to sit about half of their starters. I think the QB depth can put some points on the board against 2nd/3rd sting defenses.
GL.
