My problem with the Packers

   I have been on one of those terrible runs recently. Lost an entire years of profits in about a month chasing my tail and I am sick about it. So, take this with a grain of salt. I just do not see the Packers today for these reasons.
1) They have no running game. I am ok establishing the run to pass but this Packers team is so one dimensional, if I am Atlanta, I play nickel  or dime and force them to run with an non RB ball carrier. 
2) The Packers have trouble with press coverage. Yes, they destroyed the Giants but does anyone else remember the first quarter when they had all their DB's on the field? They were playing great defense with pressure on the WR's and keeping Rodgers in the pocket. After losing 75% of their secondary in the first quarter, they tidal wave started against undrafted rookies.
3) The Packers are so beat up right now. Look, I get it, no team is healthy at this point in the season and the Falcons have also lost some key players but Jordy is going to play with 2 broken ribs? R U kidding me? If he does, I guarantee you one shot over the middle will end his day. Davante Adams' ankle was twisted totally backwards last week. I feared he would never play again but he was able to play on with it. That said, now it has had a week to swell and get sore, there is just no way he is 100%. All that said, I am not a believer in Jared Cook, yes he has been playing great but I am telling you, the guy is a mistake, just waiting to happen.
4) The Cowgirls had totally shut down the Packers once they got out of zone. In the worst coaching decision of all time, the Girls spotted the Pack 3TD's by starting the game in zone. It was as if no one on that team had watched one second of film. Once they went to press coverage, the Pack  went punt, punt, TD, Int, FG, FG ( on a very lucky if you will third and forever) this will not be able to keep up with the Dirty Birds.
5) The Dirty Birds have some amazing offensive numbers. Usually, in the playoffs, I will side with the defenses (as they do win championships) but the Packers Defense will simply not be able to stop this offense, that is all there is to it. 
6) I think Dan Quinn is a genius and we will find out today if I am right before you the rest of the world.



I am loving the Falcons (as are Vegas as this line is very suspect at 6 and is not moving) and the public has been killing both of us all year, today, we get even

Do flat bet, no matter how you love the Falcons today, CD. Packers beat the NFC's best defensive team, G-men and #1 seed team, Cowboys, at their house. These Packers are a very good football team, CD. Best of Luck!

Its not about Green Bay or Atlanta. Its about the Best player in the NFL....

Yeah, G-Men were def not the best defensive team. Got a good chuckle out of this.

Perhaps, not in the category of total yards allowed/game but G-men ranked #1 in points allowed/game in NFC in regular season. You want chuckle? Go ahead.

Last three road games GB is averaging 155 a game on the ground, and 6.6 YPC.  Atl has had trouble stopping the run also.  I just wanted to point this out. 

That said, I think Atl crushes them.

Ugh...ok....Packer fan here.  Let me tell you something about the running game.  McCarthy has spent a significant amount of time in the last few years trying desperately to "establish the run" despite having a team built to go through the air.  However, something has changed in the last few months.  Mike is finally using the run game strategically to do what this game is all about which is move the chains and score points.  No, they dont rake up huge running offense totals to make the number crunching nerds happy, but just watch what happens with montgomery and ripkowski today.  They will each come up with big plays at key moments to move the chains and allow the passing game to put up a lot of points. 

Also GB's defense is terribly underrated.  Yes, they give up seemingly wide open plays and drive people crazy but 4 of the last games they have held teams to 13 or few points.  They have beaten 5 playoff teams in the last 7 weeks.  They come up with turnovers at key times and they force teams to kick FG. 

As far as health.....GB is going to be healthier than you think.  Rib injuries are treated with pain management.  Nelson will be fine and surely loaded up with ibuprofen or whatever pain killer the training staff has.  I actually am skeptical he actually had broken ribs. Rib fractures are extremely difficult to diagnose as perfect images are rather hard to acquire.  Plus the hit was so low, and in a place where floating ribs can absorb the blow I suspect he had some good bruising going on but he will be fine today.

Anyway...thats enough of a rant for me....GB wins this thing and the Rodgers legend will continue to grow.

Based on what? What good teams have they crushed this year? Their schedule had a ton of cupcakes and they couldnt handle KC and lost to Seattle in their first match up.  They got Oakland early.  They have beaten up on a bunch of tomato cans in the last half of the year while the packers have been laying waste to playoff team after playoff team.  5 playoff teams go down in 7 weeks and they get CRUSHED by atlanta? Please.

you couldnt be more wrong about GB's running game. Ty Montgomery has gotten the yards that they needed to move the chains. not a 100 yard rushing by any means but they get the tough yards against Dallas and New York's tough run defense. the Falcons are a step down.
Sip on that plus money honey!

100 yard rushing games?  What does that have to do with anything???? WHOOOO CARES?  McCarthy has figured out how to use the run as a jab and allow the hay-makers to come from the passing game as it should be.  Montgomery is a weapon out of the backfield every bit as much as Freeman is.  The packers just have a lot of other options to distribute the ball to split ends, wide outs, tight ends, fullbacks etc.

Montgomery might combine for 120 total yards today or he may not, but either way the packers offense will have no issues putting up enough points to win this game.

My opinion is this. Why give the greatest QB in the game a handful of points? He has proven over and over again that he brings home the money. It really is that simple.

Bet against AR at your own risk.

As a doctor, I would say two things. 1) they will probably shoot him with some Marcaine before the game which will really ease the pain. That said, the first time he takes a shot there, he will know it, there is no way to deaden the pain of a broken bone. Ribs are very hard to diagnose on plain x-ray but very easy to diagnose on CT scan, I would bet he had a CT scan at that level of care.

They came to Denver and totally embarrassed the number 1 defense in the league in my eyes, it was sick and on ther road.
