In any event, hopefully they play well enough to keep the fans coming out: it was a little annoying having the games blacked out last season. Not that I really wanted to watch the Lions, mind you, but still...

dude the lions are not winning 6 or 5 games! look how there season starts. Yall have to play the Steelers, Saints, Bears, Vikings, Packers all in the first 6 games with the easiest being the redskins in week 3. If you guys dont win that one, you guys may actually start off 0-6. Lil bit of good news tho, after ur week 7 bye you've got the rams at home (careful tho, rams thinkin the same thing). So u guys wont be 0-16 this year. congrats on the improvement!

I think they beat the redskins week 3, also wouldn't be shocked to see them beat either the saints or viks weeks 1 or 2. think they take the packers at home and also could win 2 out of the last 3.
thats 8-8 if everything falls into place. the nfl is a crazy league there is a new coaching staff new players and a new mindset in detroit. will this help them look like a real football team next year, im not sure but im more optimistic then i have been in years.

HAHAHAHA!
For those of you not in the Detroit area, you might not know, but my mates all DVR the Lions game each Sunday.
Well, because they were blacked out a few times last year, it was hilarious to hear them call me and tell me that they click on LIONS FOOTBALL and it's an hour informerical for COLON CLEANSE 2000! HAHAHAHAHA!
No shit!
The running gag was which would earn more revenue this week, the Lions franchise or Colon Cleanse 2000?
HAHAHAHA!
Seems about appropriate too.

That's the daftest thing I've seen written on this website in ages.
Saints? Vikings?
HAHAHAHAHA!
No way in hell the Lions beat Brees and Co. in the Dome. Sorry. Not going to happen.
Perhaps the Vikings if their QB situation is still shit, but once the Vikings put up 10 points, the Lions are done.
Don't forget not to underestimate the propensity of the Lions players to completely and utterly give up and quit by the time th e4th Quarter rolls around. Last season 4th Quarters seen some of the weakest efforts and queerish tackling this side of the XFL.
You have to first assume that the Lions players will want to play the game before you try to determine what the end result might be.

regardless of how many games they end up winning I think the lions will be a great bet for the majority of the season and I will definitely be betting the season total Ive got over 5 at +130. Would really love to get it at 4.5 even with a little juice but Ill take what I can get.

hope your right, if they ever go 16-0 though they'll lose to whoever the wildcard team they play is because thats what the lions do, disapoint fans year after year

Yes, possibly true as the 0-16 won't be washed down easily. The Lions should be dogs in just about every game, but it's hard to see them losing every one again.
Thing is, to pick the right value. Week One is not one of those spots for the Lions, IMO.

YES i couldnt agree more to bet the lions against the spread this year. prolly cover 10 games outta 16. but to stretch it as far as them winning 6 games is tough. i can max 6 but most likely 4 games. there divison is pretty tough. with chicago twice, green bay twice and minny twice. i can see them only winning 1 out of 6. where will the other 5 games come from? who knows. when they do win there first game it will be liek they just won the superbowl in the once was motorcity

Everyone needs to calm down a little, I said I wouldn't be shocked to see the lions win week 1 or 2. This implies I don't expect them to win either game but people are acting like i guaranteed it. I think the defense will be much improved (couldn't be worse) with the new linebackers and defensive backs the lions have brought in. Sims, Foote, Peterson is one of the scarier linebacking cores in the NFL. The D line still isn't good so they will probably still give up a lot of yards on the ground but it wouldn't be a total shock for me if they win either game. Honestly a lot of my belief that they could pull out an upset win early on in the season is that I think teams won't take them seriously as many of the people on this forum don't. I think they will play with passion and purpose, nobody likes to be the laughingstock and I have to believe the new coaching staff and new veterans brought in will help push this team in the right direction.

Stay away from Weeks 6-10. Those weeks are the books' deadzone weeks. The weeks they are the sharpest and catch up to the public and the new good teams for the NFL season.
Weeks 2-5 are your best bets for getting a Lions' winner.
