Hello Covers Community. Happy football season to all and remember a few things that I have learned over my five decades of Pigskin Prognostications:
-the season is a marathon, not a sprint
-pick your spots
-if you bet a dog, and they’re leading at the half, stop watching the game…it can only get worse! LOL
-I only bet dogs if I truly believe they can win outright
-teasers will lead to seizures, parlays can lead to bad days, but win bets can lead to grin days
Week 1 my focus is in Cincinnati. Anyone can rattle off the stats on why a team can win. What could be the best comment of this upcoming season, and it was only the FIRST GAME, came from Cris Collinsworth…”the team that can complete their third down passes tonight has a really good chance to win this game”. Please. Way to go Einstein. Yes, I consider a Mano y Mano matchup, but I am a situational player…
My focus is on the following fact:
As the home team week 1, a win is essential for the Bengals. Following this game, 4 of their next 5 are on the road. They can’t afford to start with a home loss. As for Tampa Bay, their next 3 games are at home. Done. Go Cincinnati. The Bucs usually play hard, but I’m gonna lay the 3 1/2.

Just had an intuitive feeling about the Panthers today. Gonna play them separately on the money line. Similar situation as Cincy…home opener today followed with two road games ahead. Plus, I remain pessimistic about da Bears.
