Oh come on, Million Dollar Man! Baseball is one of the few sports that one player can't win you trophy. I'm not even a Yankee fan but A-Rod is one of the best players to ever play the game. List of great players to never win a WS...
Barry Bonds Ken Griffey JR Tony Gwynn Ichiro
Just to name few...
I agree, he's one of the best players to ever play the game, but not in the postseason!

Nobody remembers the great regular seasons. People do however remember the world series winners!
That is the craziest post i've heard in a while. In baseball there are 9 people on the field. A Rod is a 3rd baseball, he does NOT pitch, play 1st,2nd,SS,outfield,catcher,pitcher. You can NOT win in baseball with just 1 star player! Come on man. You should know better than to post this.
Exactly 9 people on the field and he comes up empty in the postseason. So how does he expect to win a world series if he keeps coming up empty in the postseason? All I'm saying is, if he can produce in the postseason, maybe he can finally get a world series ring? Until then he's just going to be remembered as a great regular season player!

A-Rod is a career .279 hitter in the playoffs, with an OPS of .844
In the ALCS he's hitting .315 with a 1.024 OPS.
I'm not sure what exactly he's not doing for you

If you call this great then you must be watching something else. here's A-rod's last 4 postseason numbers with the Yankees... these are pitiful for someone of his calibur...
2004 vs. Boston .258 batting avg with 5 Rbi's
2005 vs. Angels .133 batting avg with zero Rbi's
2006 vs. Detroit .071 batting avg with zero Rbi's
2007 vs. Cleveland .267 batting average with 1 Rbi
You call this a great player???

No doubt he not been producing in the playoffs, but I still believe even if he was holding his own, that is team still wouldn't of won the ring. I think this year he will prove people wrong and get his first ring.

Oh come on! You can't base what he's done during the postseason on whether hes great or not. The man is one of the greatest players to play the game period. What he does in the postseason is almost irrelevant in his sport.

I disagree! I think if he had one great postseason in one of those 4 below the Yankees win one! How many chances does he need to produce? time is running out.

I said he was a great player in the regular season! But when the game is on the line or it's a pressure game i'll take a lot of players over him!!!

I know this much if he keeps coming up empty in the postseason, he will always be remembered as a choke artist! sad to say but that's the truth!

Yeah, I mean if we were to celebrate what happens in the postseason -- we'd make yadier molina, matt stairs, and jeff weaver some of the all-time greats.
It is much harder to do it over 162 than in 3 games. Anyone can have a bad couple of games, it doesn't mean he's a bad player. Besides, hitting in the mid-200's in october isn't great, but it isn't bad either.

Do you think George Steinbrenner brought A-rod to New York to have great regular seasons? Hell no! He brought him to New York to produce in the postseason and bring the Yankees another title!

Ok buddy I really can't argue with you anymore because you're going in circles. What if A-rod produced in the playoffs but never won a WS, what would you say then?

If A-rod produced in the postseason but never one a world series then you can't blame him. For instance you can't blame Karl Malone or or John Stockton for never winning a ring because they always produced even in the postseason but just were unfortunate to play the same time Michael Jordan played. But A-rod deserves some of the blame! He needs to step up in the postseason and show he can do it! Like i said George Steinbrenner did not bring him to new york to have great regular seasons! George brought him here to produce in the postseason as well and bring another title to the Yankees.

But what if he didn't produce during the regular season? They might not even make the playoffs and if he struggled during the season he might not even be on the team.
