Takin the Colts to cover spread. Buy the hook if ya feel that way about the game bein close. The way i look at it, who has the most come backs in the 3rd and fourth qrts ? Also i'll take my chances on Peyton's arm verses greene's running. It's a little easier to get up and down the field by throwing the ball. Quicker points for Colts. Both teams playin good. Not takin anything away from either one. BOL to all !

Let's actually do the math here and end this discussion once and for all. Mathematically it is easy.

If you think the Jets have a better than 22.73% chance of winning the game, then the -340 line is not for you. The man who started the thread believes the Colts have an 80% chance of winning. If that is correct, then hit E(Profit) is $480 through an infinite number of simlations. Obviously, he will be either -$13,6000 or +$4,000, but you all get the point.

If the Colts -1.5 doesn't scare anyone, you could also do a 6-point teaser with the over\under for -140, which could offset some of the nasty -340. Or take Colts teaser with the side or over\under of the Min\NO football game.

at 85% Colts for SuperInsight, his E(Return) is exactly 10%. Not bad for a day. Even if we loses, is was a good investment for his based on his beliefs of the P(W-Colts)=0.85

Thats the most assanine statement ive ever heard. Anybody who knows anything about sports and betting on sports knows that any team can win on any given day. This is the NFL, not high school, these are professional athletes who are all similar in size, speed, talent, determination, etc.

A couple examples.......2004 NBA finals, nobody and i mean nobody gave the pistons any shot to win that series. Their heart and determination won that series for them, not their talent. What about the 07 suber bowl? You are probably one of those suckers who bet the pats ML at -400, just because you thought there was ZERO possibility for NE to lose huh?

In professional sports, especially from a betting standpoint, THERE IS NEVER EVER SUCH THING AS A GUARNTEE OR LOCK

Risking -340 ML isn't always a bad play. True if you're doing it *every time* then you will get killed, but that's not what the OP is saying. I've never get it how a lot of people are determined to get nearly 100% return on their bets, i.e. -110 or -120 or whatever. If you're daytrading the stock market, you take your 10% return and you cash out. Superior Insight will get a 30% return if the Colts win.

Unless you are going to be on the field as a player or an official (which im guessing you are not)  how you can make a guarantee? Everybody and their mommas was guaranteeing SD to win last week and what happened?

The word guarantee has absolutley no place in sports betting. As much as certain players or officials can affect games, no one can account for turnovers, injuries, etc

You are right in your analysis that the Jets should not even be here right now...

The Colts rested their starters and Cincy rolled over for them.

Which makes this the Karma Bowl.  The Jets have a chance to beat BOTH teams that allowed them to be where they are.  Cincy got what they asked for, and now may be the Colts turn to pay the piper.  This Colt's D is not as stout as in years past.  Peyton's MVP season carried them to their stellar record.

If the Jets can keep the Colts off the field and pound the rock all day long I see this staying closer than most people are giving the Jets credit for.

The Colts are very similar to the Chargers team the Jets just beat.  No running game, an elite TE and one stud WR with capable 2nd and 3rd guys.  Revis is in the zone right now and Rex Ryan having this defense playing out of their minds!
