Ticats deal veteran quarterback Maas to Alouettes for fullback Piercy
10 minutes ago
MONTREAL (CP) — The Montreal Alouettes acquired veteran quarterback
Jason Maas from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for Canadian fullback Jeff
Piercy on Friday.
The deal was finalized after the Ticats signed
free-agent quarterback Casey Printers on Thursday, but Maas initially
balked at going to Montreal. A league source told The Canadian Press
that Maas later agreed to report to the Alouettes and in fact had
caught an early-morning flight to join his new team.
Maas fills a
need for Montreal. Veteran quarterback Anthony Calvillo hasn't
practised this week due to a back injury suffered in a loss last week
to the B.C. Lions, and Calvillo isn't expected to play in the rematch
this weekend against the Lions.
Backup Marcus Brady will start in
Calvillo's absence against B.C. on Sunday afternoon at Molson Stadium
and Maas is expected to be in uniform.
Maas arrived in Hamilton
amid much fanfare following the 2005 season when he was instrumental in
helping the Edmonton Eskimos win the Grey Cup. But he struggled to
match that success with the Ticats as injuries and inconsistent play
left him with a 5-19 as a starter before losing his job to rookie Timmy
Chang last week.
Montreal selected Piercy in the second round,
12th overall, in the 2005 CFL Canadian college draft. The six-foot-one,
229-pound fullback from the University of Saskatchewan had 42 yards
rushing in eight carries and four catches for 49 yards and a touchdown
this season with the Alouettes.

fuck sorry the article got so screwy....ughh anyways...ill take this BC defense to eat marcus brady alive behind that already shaky montreal offensive line...gameplan is simple for BC....stop Peyton and force them to beat you in the air with an inexperienced back.
taking this one now before it skyrockets....

Boys, I like i am leaning towards Edmonton +2 tonite. These 2 point lines are always strange and work out for the home dog. Perhaps I will hit..a 7 pt teaser.
Edmonton +8 and over 48 or so. and Edmonton +8 and under 62 or so.
still 4 hours till kick off, i am hungry, I am cooking some pasta, oh yaaaaa
