2 division rivals both coming off home losses. And 2 QB'S with lingering questions, can Cam still throw and will Jameis ever stop turning the ball over? The answer to both may be "NO."
The Panthers trailed the entire game and while losing by only 3 it sure seemed like a greater margin than that. They couldn't stop the run, 32 for 166 and had 3 turnovers and Cam did not have a completion of any significant distance. McCaffrey did his thing, outside of that, not alot of good to talk about for Carolina. Perhaps they showed some heart in not letting the Rams run away with the game.
TB played one of the ugliest games I've seen in awhile vs SF. Critical mistakes and penalties both ways, there were multiple TD's called back on both teams, don't remember the last time I saw that. Jameis had 3 pix', in his defense 1 was a ball deflected by OJ Howard that should have been caught, and according to coach Arians, another was the wrong route ran by the intended receiver (RB Peyton Barber) ran back for a TD. The last one, however, was all on Jameis and it was ran back for a TD that sealed the game for the 49ers. But the Bucs ran the ball well, 23 for 127 and held the SF offense to 256 total yards.
I like trends especially when it comes to division opponents, let's take a look-
You'll love this one, both teams are perfect on Thursday night as of late, Bucs 0-5 ATS while the Panthers check in at 0-4 ATS. Nice!
The dog is 4-1 ATS the last 5, road team is 7-3 ATS. The Bucs are 4-0-1 ATS following a straight up loss last 5, Panthers are 2-5 last 7.
The Under is 5-1 the last 6 and 13-6 the last 19 games these 2 have locked horns in Charlotte.
I gotta' believe both coaches will play this game close to the vest, running the ball, ball control. Don't ask too much of your QB's, you know those questions don't go away so easily. While it's early, make no mistake its a big game. Carolina cannot afford to lose their first 2 games especially being home games and the Bucs and their new completely overhauled coaching staff doesn't want to face an 0-2 start and all the criticism and sleepless nights that go along with that. I believe the trends stay in form tonight, therefore-
BUCS +7
UNDER 49.5
As always good luck to all!

I watched both teams l.w and they both looked like crap mainly at QB---dont guess Winston can play any worse so with TB getting +7 that seems like the right play

Great analysis and I concur with every word. DJ Howard also fumbled near the 10-yd line. Simply put that 49ers game was misleading as the Bucs played well enough to have a shot at winning it plus the 49ers DL is elite as far as I'm concerned and they gave Winston tons of pressure. Meanwhile, Jared Goff had all day to throw against the Panthers DL and didn't get touched. The 49ers also had trouble running the ball which the Panthers will do a lot of now that Cam has little arm strength. I love the Bucs plus a small bet on the ML as it's great value here.
BOLTA and please give us more writeups like this where you've clearly studied both teams.

St Louis defensive and offensive lines are miles ahead of TB's. I watched not just the niners game but preseason and they are awful in the trenches.
it will come down to turnovers. in the last 4 years the Bucs beat the Panthers 3 times out of 8 games and all 3 wins Winston had zero picks, the other 5 games he had 8 picks at least in total.
The Panthers have the dynamic player the Bucs lack now that Jackson is gone. McCaffrey will run wild on that defense.
