I see alot of people on here saying the line is so high because of the pats win over denver last week and thats why its inflated. yet everybody i see is taking ravens with the points. doesnt seem right does it? usually when there is a big line everybody is on the favorite not the dog. the reason is because everybody is going to take balt at 7+ and lose this week. heres why, first the pats offense didnt suddenly just click last week vs denver. it has been explosive all year. brady had one of the under the radar best seasons of any qb in nfl history because of brees breaking the record and rodgers tearing it up in green bay. the pats offense has to many weapons, gronk and hernandez can not be covered by a single player whether its a corner then gronk is to big and physical and if you put a backer on them forget about it no way can they keep up with either. and even if you decide to drop backers into coverage like a tampa then brady will just drop it off to welker for 8-10 yards at a time. balt defense has 3 sacks in last 3 games and are averaging twice as many sacks at home than on the road. pats score no less then 27 points im thinking 31-34 myself.
Now the pats defense as everyone knows has stunk it up all year against the pass. but with chung and spikes back this is a lot better overall defense. they are healthier then ever with the bye week plus the extra day off because they played saturday. i see rice getting his 120-140 total yards but that will be a win for the pats defense. flacco is not going to be able to go 4-10 this year for 34 yards and win like in 09 when brady had nobody to throw to since welker tore his acl the week before and had neither hernandez or gronk. think ravens hang around for about a half then pats pull away in the third and win by 14-20 points when its all said in done as flacco turns ball over trying to play from behind when he cant just hand ball to rice and be conservative. they got lucky last week that jones tried fielding a punt like a moran and fumbled at his own 2 giving the ravens 7 points after a 3 and out. and also that tj yates just floated the ball up for 3 picks. ed reed said himself it would have been a different outcome if schaub was there and now he is calling out his qb and offense......good luck with that. pats march on to yet another superbowl sunday evening. opinions welcome.
