The Heat thrive on pressure situations. When the heat is on, they play defense. When they get in a comfort zone, they don't. Simple as that.
Look at game 1 of this series, a crucial "must win" game. The Heat hold Dallas to 84 points and the UNDER clears by 12 points.
Game 2: Miami comes out relaxed, up 1-0 in the series, and Dallas puts 28 up in the 1Q. The Heat wake up, go up 15 late in the game then shut it down again, letting Dallas get back into the game by scoring on nearly every possession down the stretch. Most OVERs hit or pushed, depending on your number.
Game 3: The most important game of the series so far, Miami doesn't give up more than 22 points in a quarter [22-20-22-22] and the UNDER hits by 15 points.
Dwayne Wade was quoted as saying "If we won game 2, we wouldn't have had the same sense of urgency in game 3."
These guys are superstars, who can turn it off and turn it on - and they know this. There's a reason they lost something like 9 of their first 20 games, but they've only lost 1 game in each of their playoff series so far.
The Heat are averaging 91/game in this series. No reason to think they won't get 91 at least tonight, as Peja, The Jet, Dirk, etc. don't have the ability to "flip the switch" on D like the Heat can.
The bookmakers have this game going 95-92. I have taken the UNDER in every game so far, but I think the Heat let off the gas defensively tonight and this one goes OVER.
