If there is one thing we have learned about this Minnesota squad, it is that the Twolves play better when their backs are "against the wall." What does this mean? Well, they have previously shown a strong tendency to bounce back on the road following a poor offensive showing. That is what they face tonight. Last year, they split against both NBA Champion OKC & Golden State despite a few poor shooting performances. They can play at their opponents pace, yet tend to come up huge when they need it most on the road. For how poorly they shot, give them credit as they gave Jamal Murray fits from 3 pt range (0-8), which is unheard of when playing in Denver. This team has often relied on their defense to remain competitive when shooting poorly-- and while game 1 didn't go as planned... let's not forget they've faced Denver the last 3 years in the playoffs and familiarity is HUGE this time of year.
A trend to keep in mind... Nuggets of late have played at a very fast pace and let's not let last game fool us. 5 of the last 6 Nuggets games have gone OVER the point total. Also, Denver's offensive rebounding with Aaron Gordon & company tends to drive these totals up in a hurry... and the only way Minnesota will be able to adjust is to oblige & hit their shots, which I expect both teams to do tonight. The over/ under has slowly moved up to 232.5 & I think for good reason.
I expect Minnesota to hit their give Denver all they can handle early on, but that when all is said & done... unfortunately for them, it still won't be enough. Not even against the spread.

Denver's championship DNA & ability to finish take over. Joker will surely stay in the game almost the entire 2nd half and take control of this game and Murray will continue to dominate.
