Public seems to me on the other side of each and pretty large.  Moving the other way - heavy money knows more than I.....

The public is NOT on the Golden State Warriors.  Incredibly, it's the Nets that have built up a bit of a following tonight.

Go through these threads and find 20 people making a pick on the Warriors/Nets game and tell me if 16 of them are choosing the Warriors.  You won't, because it's more like 13/7 or 14/6 for the Nets.

Sportsbook.com is a great indicator of public money and they are BURIED on the Warriors.

I use www.thespread.com then scroll down the top nba to public bets.

It works alot better on the weekend, but obviously their are more bets placed then.

It's a lot better than percentages on covers because on the spread it shows you people actuaallly betting not just thrown bs picks down.

coloradobuff, if you're going to put too much faith in percentages like those, then you're occasionally going to be misled.  This Warriors/Nets matchup is one of those times.

And the next night they might go 0-5.  Total B.S., but good luck to anyone who feels it's worth dick.  Been proved over and over that it's pure luck....but people keep drinking the kool aid.

Covers.com is not the public.  In fact, we represent a very small percentage.  You have to keep thing in perspective when talking about these threads in relation to moving a line one way or another.

I am not saying it is an exact science, but if it doesn't make you at least think twice about a play your about to make when there is 80+% action on your side, and the line still moves in your favor, you are ignoring something that can help protect your bankroll.  It likes going to a job site with half a tool box.  I strongly believe a conscious gambler should be looking at these numbers.

So Lets say you cap a game using whatever methods one chooses and you don't think a line on a game is accurate so you decide to play that game b/c you have it capped at a different line.  Just because you see reverse line movement you think people should get off their plays or think about getting off?  I don't get that.  If reverse line movements won everytime, everybody would always bet the reverse line move games and everybody would be rich.  i think you should only pay attention to line movements if you know who and for what reason the line changed.  Just b/c there is reverse line movement does not mean a play is correct or not.

Sure there are some great cappers on this site and there is a lot of  good information to be found if you can filter through the nonsense. But by and large covers is dominated by mostly Joe Shmoes posting their locks of the day and GOY on a double digit road favorite.

Want to comment on this betting percentages u guys looking at, its overall public betting tickets not the amount of money that is being wagered on that team...........u could have 80% of betting tickets total lets say 5,000.00 and 20% tickets total 10,000.00 where do u think the money is at . The money is what the books think about not the amount of tickets.
