In addition, all those people that hated on the Lakers last season, well now you have a real dynasty to bet on, a team that will cover spreads unlike the Lakers team. Let's face it, the NBA was dying, people are sick of the Lakers and Celtics, this new dynasty will be a treat for everyone to watch and will revive the NBA. People are bitter for donkey reasons. Let's face it, whoever bet heavy on the NBA last year knows the refs still play a huge role and have taken away the fun out of the NBA. So for once, let's actually cheer for this favourite, hell we can make some money on them too. The haters will hate but they will all tune in to Heat games next season and eventually just jump on their bandwagon. Every other team is screwed anyway, so start dealing with the reality now. Might as well enjoy watching an all-star team dismantle the rest of the NBA, much funner to enjoy it.

He made a great choice. Look back at the last 15 championships and tell me a team that won ANYTHING with a 2nd best player the caliber of Antwan Jamison that won.

It's not a question of hating or liking LeBron. I am a native Ohioan and I wish LeBron the best of luck. He's a 25 year old that wants the night life and party atmosphere of south beach. Perfectly understandable. He wants to hang with his boys, perfectly understandable. He gave us 7 years of winning and to the Cavs credit, they really pursued every avenue they could to get the players around LeBron to get the ring. Unfortunately there really were not many options until this year's free agent class and we all know what happened.
LeBron grew up a Yankees fan and understands that the Yanks assembled greatness through free agenecy and is just following that model. I just wish he could have handled his exit from Ohio and his hometown with more class. The whole "decsion show" was a circus. If LeBron did not want to stay here, that's cool, just man up and tell us. Don't make us wait till all the big name free agents are off the market and then not tell the owner and make him wait till the night of the circus. Not cool at all. Then have your agent call the Cavs and not have enough balls to do it yourself, really not cool. I have been told that the circus show raised over 6 million from advetisements. It would have been much cooler if LeBron just scratched of a 6 mill check to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America in the Miami area and then announced that is where he intends to play at a standard press conference. By the way, I have been told the boys and Girls Club only received the scholarships from the U of Phoenix and a 1/2 mill. Who got the rest of the profits?
Not hating, just wish the 25 yr old kid would have exited with more class and Dan Gilbert just kept his mouth shut. Gilbert acted on emotion rather than logic, but, if LeBron would have sacked up, all this could have been avoided. Memo to Gilbert, two wrongs do not make a right.
GL LBJ, I hope you get all the tail you want in South Beach and maybe a ring or two after a few years of almost getting there with the Heat.

Perhaps he did make the right decision and I have problem with him going where ever he wants to go. After all this is free agency. I have a problem with the manner in which he did it. Just showed no class for a guy who trys to shadow MJ... he isn't MJ!

I agree with pretty much everything said here. Good post.

He changed his #, he changed towns, he passes on game winning shot. I don't think he was trying to be MJ.

I agree. He is not trying to be MJ. I don't think anyone can find a tape anywhere where he is on record saying I want to be MJ...I want to be the greatest of all time.
That being said, I do think his numbers at the end of this career will be spectacular and unrilvaled by any other player (points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks).
But MJ will remain the greatest of all time.

I will give LeBron enough credit to be smart enough not to come out and say it too. However, I am certain based on his action at one point in time he thought he could be or pass MJ. Clearly he is also smart enough to realize that this isn't the case and that he needs help.
Don't sleep on Kobe though as he has five championships (one short of MJ) but not as many personal accomplishments (Finals MVPs, All-Star Game MVPs, League MVPs or scoring championships) as MJ. However, I do believe that if Kobe gets one or two more he deseves to be discussed in the same breath as MJ.

LBJ's reality show was selfish and classless. He didn't have the balls to inform the Cavs that he wasn't re-signing. He had one of his "boys" make the call. He is an arrogant jerk that only thinks of himself. I find it hard to believe that the majority of you clowns worship this guys actions. I live in Cleveland and have been aware of him since his early teens. At one time he was a humble nice kid. Things have changed. As his game grew so did his ego. I just wish this jerk would have helped bring a championship here before he decided to gravy train D. Wade.

He made the right decision for those simple reasons, I'm not sure why people can't understand his decision. Not too hard to comprehend.
