Idiot? What are you 10 years old? I'll just chalk that up to your lack of courtesy and experience debating in forums. That's something trolls and children do. Not the way adults act while in discussion, whether they agree or not. You wouldn't say that to my face for you may face retaliation, so apply that to discussions behind the computer screen. But Id much rather talk basketball than your lack of respect at this point.
Yes they are old. Sure, Duncan has found the fountain of youth. But in reality, they drew the Lakers. Who did not belong in the playoffs as they had completely disintegrated into something unseen before. For a minute there I thought they would run out of bodies and be forced to forfeit. I don't care about what the ages of role players are. The Miami Big 3 is in their prime while the Spurs are of advanced age. That's what I meant in the context of "old." Additionally the Heat employ Ray Allen and Juwan Howard which skewers things just a bit.
They had trouble vs. Golden State and I was licking my chops at the +700 series. And then Curry messed his ankle up. And with Memphis, well there's nothing there but just pure dominance.
At this point Ginoboli is their Wade. Duncan is their LeBron. Tony Parker is much better at this point than Chris Bosh. Their bench is solid and they have amazing chemistry. It should be a great series. Just one thing though, the Heat still must get passed Indiana.

You've got me there!![]()
The Heat really had to go through nobody to reach the conference Finals. The Bucks a sub 500 team and the Bulls decimated. That could have had some negative ramifications for Miami entering the Indiana series.
A month ago I was saying that Miami will just breeze thru these playoffs. no sweat. But then the excuse factory opened up. Wade is hurt. Bosh is hobbled. Shots aren't falling. LeBron is tired of carrying the team. So there is now doubt about the prospect of having to play the Spurs who seem to have much more going for them right now.
The toughest matchup for Miami is Indiana. They're young, hungry, well coached, and have the size /combinations that provide a tough matchup for Miami. That's why were at such an impasse. Its Game 7 or bust now for the Heat.
The Spurs to me are less physical than Indiana, which is one of the formula's in beating Miami. Sure they have size Duncan/Splitter/Diaw, but to me at this point West/Hibbert are the better of those two options of interiors. I think Wade and Ginoboli cancel themselves out. Parker is the X factor and should be a tough assignment. But what I envision is similar to what we saw in Heat vs Bulls 2011. If not mistaken the Heat thru LeBron on Rose and that was simply it. Obviously there still is Duncan to account for. The benches are pretty similar and I'll give the edge to Miami. Intangibles I give the edge to the Spurs. Coaching I give a big edge to the Spurs. But in this instance, I still have to back the MVP of this league. It wont be easy and should be an intriguing series. One for the ages really. Its all theoretical at this point though. Miami aint even punched their ticket for this.

Honestly Kury I acted the same way when I was younger on forums. Then realized that its better to have cordial and respectful conversations with people. Its how you treat others is how one is remembered. No offense taken and Im glad to continue a conversation with a knowledgable spoortsfan such as yourself. You bring tangible arguments.
Lets examine the teams however using Hollingers stats. Heres the link for reference. This is over the regular season which Ill get to in just a minute.
https://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/teamstats
Heat were more efficient offensively while Spurs head a narrow margin defensively. In virtually every single category, they were pretty much the same. That was over the regular season. As is during the playoffs it becomes more about who is hot. There is probably no team hotter right now than the Spurs. That will play a huge dividend if things fall into place for them. Because the Spurs would sweep Indiana. A nightmare for the NBA . Thats another debate right now. You and I are are breaking down the bench in current times.
Both teams use 10 man rotations although Miami's really uses 9 but Mike Miller should now see an increase. San Antonio as a team has been better offensively, rebounding, distributing (assists) and take care of the ball better. Thats over the last month or so. The Spurs are better at just about everything. Breaking it down its basically Anderson/Cole/Allen/Battier and now Miller vs Green/Neal/Bonner/Diaw and Joseph.
Right of rip they have the better 6th Man. Whether its Ginoboli or Green. Its the best option off the bench on either side at this time. Now tell me who the next three guys you would take as an NBA General Manager for a run at the finals. Out of the remaining 9 players. Unless you have been using substances that cloud judgement the list should be Battier, Allen, and Birdman. Right now lets examine just stats
PF Bonner vs Birdman
Bonner 5ppg/2rbs
Brid 7ppg/4 rebs/1 block
IN less time and an astromomical 86 FG% Big Edge to the Birdman
EAT MY SHORTS
PG
Gary Neal 5/2/and .5 assists
Cole 7/2/2
52% vs 36% No brainer edge to Cole
Can I stop now or do I need oto keep going?

Im more of a fan of the history of the game but the Heat are my team. I loved the Alonzo Mourning days and remained a fan thru the days of Malik Allen and Rasual Butler. It has been a trying time has oddsmakers have created the "Heat tax" similar to what the Yankess get in baseball. Its been difficult finding value with my team. The best opportunity came last year on the series price following game 1 loss to Oklahoma.
It will be an interesting series and I look forward to bumping up this thread to remind you that what you are seeing is an era of historical significance. Witness.
