Sorry crash I appreciate your nuanced response and definitely over-reacted to your post, which indeed is not racist -- your son asked a question which to me is not very interesting -- race is real and worth discussion -- but seriously trying to have a genetics conversation in a gambling forum?  It seems the wrong place to find actual scientific data to teach your son -- you are better off on a university science forum if you really wanted a nuanced and interesting discussion with facts and information you could pass along -- I also think you are not watching the NBA if you aren't seeing how multi-cultural and multi-national it has become -- I suggest you educate your son to discover how many different nations and races are represented in the NBA -- that is a far more interesting conversation in my opinion than "why are there so many black players"

Why tennis players and swimming just white?

It has very little to do with genes really. It has an awful lot to do with economics. Back in the days most athletes were Jewish because of the fact that it was one of the few ways to get out of poverty and discrimination. Sports and entertainment was the easiest way to get out of their low economic status. This happens everywhere. In Japan for example Koreans were discriminated against and so they entered the entertainment field and sports. Saduhara Oh the home run king is Korean and various famous singers of those times were Koreans also. Blacks do not enter hockey,swimming, ice skating or other sports because of the prohibitive cost of those sports. Those that are wealthy enough to do so choose not to become athletes but lawyers and doctors where the odds are better at becoming syccessful. 

Ok I feel like it's probably time to educate and enlighten the forum. The reason there are so many black players in the NBA is because it is representative of the % of players that play the sport ...

This is the exact reason why so many successful   long distance runners are from some of the poorest African nations....it's there one way out of poverty and some are doing a damn good job at it

As you may believe what you believe and you may teach that to your children but please stay away from mine as those are are not the values I would like my children to learn. My children understand that a right person given the right circumstances can become a president or a general despite their color while your children will wonder why they aren't in the nba or the NFL.

simple answer... they can run faster and jump higher. they are more athletic period. nothing racist about it. basketball is a sport where running and jumping is huge part of game and blacks are simply superior at it. if u are white in nba most likely u shoot lights out or u are just extremely tall

This has nothing to do with values. It simply has to do with basic math and numbers. Are you people really that fukcing stupid that you can't figure that out? Why do you think most NHL hockey players are white? Because mostly white people play the sport in college...lacrosse same thing...baseball is a mix of races. So we see greater diversity in the MLB. The % a race playing a sport at the professional level is reflective of the % of that race playing that sport at the college level. NOT THAT HARD TO UNDERSTAND 

They are just people that happen to have a dark skin color.

white soccer players from europe run faster and jump as high as black basketball players in the US.u guys r all uneducated..its all aboput upbringing,white kids r told just to go to school,go to college in order to get a job and have luxury life.black kids from inner cities r told to play basketball which is their only way to get to the college then become a pro athlete and have a luxury life.its all about motivation.whos gonna work harder to get his goal.white kid born to a rich parents or black kid whose parents often struggle to get food and basketball is the only thing they can afford for their son
