Seriously.  I said it to start the season. I said it before they won the finals last season.  I said it at the start of the playoffs and I am saying it again.  There are many many reasons why.  If you want to know why I think so ask and I will answer when I can but I already have a thread with 13 points why.  4 are dead points now because of no OKC.  But count on these...

    1)  The public will be ON the SPURS all series long -- the betting world and sports world (rightfully so IMO) hates the Heat -- so much so that they will bet good money on the HOPE to see them fail -- Heat will be a public dog this entire series long -- I don't encourage fading the money but on this finals when you are fading the money against...

    2) LeBron -- The best player in the world right now and...

    3) DWade -- the all of a sudden healthy side kick who already has one "dirty" title under his belt and...

    4) The most profitable and important team to the NBA since the Michael Jordan Bulls, with an owner of legend who has already trademarked for good cash all things 3peat and...

    5) The need to elevate the Heat, LeBron and DWade into the LEGENDS that the Spurs already are -- win or lose the Spurs will be a dynasty -- but only with a 3peat will Lebron and Co. get to be in that realm

    6)  THE LEAGUE NEEDS ANOTHER MJ -- for tall the teenage boys and girls to hang posters on -- LeBrown is 2/3 of the way there -- this year he cements it

    7) REFS -- LeBron and the Heat have had 3 ref assignments not in their favor over 15 games -- that is insane -- it is very very very important they get to the finals and now that they are there why would the league bend to not supporting the biggest TV team in the NBA -- why?  To support a huge gambling discrepancy?

In conclusion you get at a near pick-em the non-public team headed towards an NBA wanted NBA LEGEND MAKING 3peat vs. the public-backed Texas good ole boy team of international misfits.  This is not COKE vs. PEPSI -- it is NBA SODA vs. COLA WATER.

    The HEAT WILL 3 PEAT.

i cant do it bobmalooga,i just cant do it...all my common sense tells me spurs are too good, too hungry and too deep....please convince me some more...i know it will all seem so inevitable and predictable wen lebron is hoisting the trophy once again in a few weeks time.
hard to get it out of the head tho that the spurs were just 2 or 3 tiny errors of execution,OF THEIR OWN DOING,away from taking it last year and were in my opinion the better team across the whole 7 game stretch.....now with both teams at a similar level once again and the change of home-court??
i must say however it is very interesting how the format changes in favour of the visitor at the exact year that the heat need it...as we all know it is next to impossible for a home team to take 3 in a row in a playoff series, especially wen evenly matched as these 2 squads are....so under the old format the spurs cud have basically guaranteed themselves at least one win on the road.

bobmalooga, are you laying down big with your own money on the heat??..taking it game by game or??

If Bosh doesn't get the rebound at the end of G6 or Ray Allen missed the 3, we wouldn't even be talking about a 3-peat.

Of course, Miami won last year.  But if the NBA wanted to script the Heat as champions to the degree that WWE does, then they wouldn't have made G6 so close that the Heat could've easily lost.

NBA refs have some influence, but that can be overcome by a better team.  Miami almost did it in G5 of the ECF but Bosh missed.

Bob is just here to cause confusion. Damn bookies. Covers is in cahoots. The casinos LOVE websites like this because of all the contradicting and bad plays that get posted on these boards. Totally just confuses people. Thats why these sites get sponsored by casinos.

SPURS ARE THE PLAY HERE, no reason to risk money on Miami winning 3 straight. NOT A GOOD BET, it's TOUGH to win 3 straight championships.

Check out my simple, not overthinking it, anaylisis of this series in my other thread. I explain why San Antonio will win...and it's so simple. Just like the Miami game 6 I should of known about.

This is a good example of someone that over thinks their games. You shouldn't need a 1001 points on why a team will win. Sports betting is not that complicated. I didn't even read all that crap to be honest.

Still waiting to see if BOB wants to challenge me in a contest. He does straight bets, I do parlays. We'll see how comes out on top.

I do agree with your first 3 points... but not the rest. I think the NBA wants the spurs to win. I think the owners have expressed their concerns about all these super teams being built and disrupting the balance for the league this past CBA negotiations and the spurs beating Miami for the championship will be sending a message that building and sticking with a core group of guys for a decade or so is the real way of cementing your place in history. Not building super teams.

That being said, I have to say that Miami is still the more talented team in these Finals... not only do they have stars, they also have a deep bench. I think the problem for Miami is that their path has been too easy. The spurs are reaching their peak (in terms of performance, TP's health is of course a concern) at just the right time while Miami still isn't playing the best basketball that they are capable of.

If the Spurs don't win it this year, you just know that it's the biggest joke league in the world.

Don't worry. Miami is not winning it. I've got a VERY strong vision/feeling here about San Antonio winning this series. I just had to see it first, because I was blinded to it before, thinking OKC was going to win.

    Now I KNOW

Bob remember the stat I gave about the Spurs 10-0 record winning their last 10 game 1's in series.

But the Heat is a different monster I agree the Spurs never lost when up 3-2 in a series until last years finals so that opening game record will be tested for sure.

    agree.

even though I think Miami loses game 1 on the road and then takes game 2.

I'll wait until after the first game and then bet Miami to win the Championship at better odds.

The tickets are coming in on a 2-1 clip on the Spurs already -- both in Game 1 and for the series -- Miami with a chance to 3peat is going to be a ticket dog and a money dog -- wow

    Adding a few more reasons

    8)  Extra Motivation courtesy of Tim Duncan's words

    9)  Tony Parker's Health

    10)  LeBron to win MVP at +128 -- favored above all other players by a long shot -- no reason this shouldn't be closer to +150 or +200 -- unless the books felt like

    11)  Rashard Lewis -- He is the Mike Miller this year -- he stepped up last series and will step up this series

    12)  Chalmers is better / Cole is better

    13)  No One Believes in us theory -- the media and this board and everyone is betting on the Spurs and the MIAMI HEAT are a PUBLIC DOG for the first time EVER -- seriously dudes

    14)  LeBron's ceiling is 2 times higher than every player on the Spurs -- and what if he wants to slap it and break through it -- can Kawhi keep up with that for 7 games?

    15)  2-2-1-1-1 -- If Miami steals a game in SAN they can easily steal the series in 6 games now with this format

    16)  Rivalry motivation -- the Spurs remember last year but do you suppose LeBron remembers when he was swept -- Lebron and the Spurs are now 1-1 against each other in the finals -- they both want this

    17)  pressure -- will it be on the dog who has made 4 straight finals or the team they defeated already last year trying to back a bold proclamation with an injured point guard?

Also if you guys want a good laugh -- this dbag on SBR who "writes" for them picked both sides
