Love this game, will be a 5 unit play for me maybe more.  Portland on the moneyline is as good as it gets tonight.  This is a team that New York just does not match up against at all.  The absence of Dino is phasing them a bit more than I suspected.  Galo was one guy who consistently got to the free throw line.  He not only gave them easy buckets but got opposing team players into foul trouble.  His range and driving ability cannot be matched by Shawne Williams.  Galo is also a decent on-the-ball defender and Shawne is not.  Williams may not start....at least he shouldn’t.  Dantonti would be an idiot to start him, instead look for Turiaf.  Either way Amar’e and Turiaf are going to be swallowed whole by Camby and Big L.  In his last five games, Aldridge has been a BEAST.  In the last 5 games, he has scored more than anyone at his position with 28 points per game and has grabbed 12 rebounds a game as well. He is blocking shots, changing shots in the lane and really taking over when needed.  In Camby’s last 5 games, he is rebounding and blocking as much as Dwight Howard...that tells you the kind of asset the Blazers have down low on a nightly basis.  13 rebounds and 2 blocks a game in his last 5, Camby’s wingspan will cause Amar’e a lot of problems.  Amar’e has a sweet jumpshot, but while in Phoenix always seemed to have problems getting a clean shot off against Marcus.  The length of his arms allows him to keep his feet back in case of an Amar’e take to the rim, yet still gets a hand up in his face on jumpshots.  Aldridge is 6”11 and there is no power forward on the Knicks roster that can handle him.  Wilson Chandler always uses his size and agility to take small forwards off the dribble, but tonight he meets Batum who matches him pound for pound and inch for inch.  Dre has historically been a problem for Felton and Wesley and Landry are a good matchup and will be fun to watch.  Patty Mills, Rudy, Joel and Dante will provide more efficieny off the bench than Tony, Kill Bill and Shawne.  Rose Garden will be sold out for the 139th consecutive time, Oregon fans are loyal and the Blazers will avenge Lebron’s victory tonight.

mak, any concerns that the Blazers will still be despondent over the one that got away on Sunday night?  Because if the Blazers are even half as messed up over that game as I am, then they're not going to be ready to play.

I think this line is spot on, everyone looking to cash on double digit dog lines at Staples Centre due to the Lakers slow start are going to be sorry.  Yes the Lakers lost to the Griz and to the Bucks as well.  Two teams that played good defense in order to beat the champs.  Cleveland is a horrific defensive team, they will not be able to stop the Lakers at all.  For those worried about them playing down to their level, don’t worry so much.  They are the champs, the talent alone on this roster allows them to beat low-tier teams like the Cavs with minimal effort.  Bynum, Gasol and Odom are way too much for Hickson, Eyenga and Samuels to handle.  This may be a 15 point game at the half.

    That would be nice.

I think the Knicks will be just as shocked and will be doubting their abilities a little bit after getting spanked by the Lakers, the Blazers will be hungry at home and excited to end their woes against a good team in the Knicks.  I think if the Blazers were playing a bad team they would have a let down tonight...just my 2 cents MrBator hope it helps

Good luck Mak. Happy New Year!

I don't think despondency will be evident, in fact quite the opposite.  They let it slip away, they had Miami in a position they had not been in for over 20 games.  I am sure the intensity and effort will be there, but a jumpshooting team like New York can be very dangerous if they hit shots consistently.  Good luck allyjm, have always enjoyed your thoughts.

Great info, mak.  I'm leaning towards the TIMBERWOLVES + points at home even w/out Beasley, I think they give it their very best shot and could maybe ::gasp:: win outright

GL Island, at this point in time I just cannot lay anything on or against this team.  Blacklisted until this trade goes through.  Good luck, will be rooting for you

The comment is in regards to my last writeup on New York.  I stated that Galo will not be missed due to the internal improvement of Tony Douglas and the play of Shawne Williams.  Yes I was happy with their performance against the Suns but Shawne is a dismal defender who does not provide the same intangibles as Galo.

I really appreciate your continued support Mikado.

Trust me I understand what you are going through.  To watch your star's last game is not easy.  I was lucky enough to have to vivid memories of my star's leaving.  Vince crying and getting carried off the floor and Chris getting his face re-arranged.  Mello is different.  A true star, one of the best at his trade.  As someone in Colorado I am sure this sucks for you, shows you are a true basketball fan since you are going to see one of the best pure scorers ever up close while you can.  Have fun bud.

However, with thoughts of players not showing up to concentrate on a win, do you think Denver might show up and just run and gun...Phoenix doesn't exactly lock the door at night let alone lock down on D, and Denver at home I'm sure will atleast revert to running and trying to outscore Phoenix....kind of fall into the game that Phoenix wants to play..any thoughts...the # is falling

You said it brother.  Thanks for the new year wishes, you as well.

I think you have this game capped correctly.  Phoenix is in trouble, their screen and roll defense is one of the worst in the league.  Marcin Gortat has officially proved......that he is a backup center or a role playing starting big at best.  He is not the pick and roll stallion I thought he would be.  Pietrus is lost in translation and if this team is going to rely on consistency from Dud, Lopez and Frye to win ball games....they are going to lose ball games.  Gun to my head I would say Denver covers this spread, as you stated, they may just translate their frustration into a run and gun push and if they play even a little D, this one is theirs.  Good luck bud.

I don't mean to be arrogant when I state this at all.  But I make a tremendous amount of money.  I am also extremely confident in my skills at handicapping this one sport.......I WOULD NEVER. EVER.  Lay that much on on a regular season game.  That is a little ridiculous bro.  In the national basketball association there is just so much sheer talent across the league.  Any given day, any given player can score 30 and completely change a game.  Betting in the NBA is about money management & confidence.  It is a marathon, not a sprint.  I would recommend hedging this bet even if you make half a mil a year, this is not intelligent wagering.

That is absolutely ludicrous.  Quite pathetic if he really did state that.  Covers is filled with so much intelligence yet all I see on a daily basis is absolute garbage from a bunch of childish degenerate gamblers.  I remember when some idiot when on a measly 11-2-1 run then got booted for trying to sell his picks.  All I read is how covers kicked him due to his percentage....are you all kidding me? if everybody manages money
most of bettors will make money, we dont need IQ of 180 to win sports betting, we see the same game, we are all intelligent,
veteran sports bettors know the game, honnestly like you said
it s all about money management, we are human
its tough to control the money, everybody has a different life, some need more money, obviously evrybody need money.
making money in sports like a job is really something to do
not for 1 year , 2years, forever, its almost impossible.
i think everybody has another job, even fulltime sports bettor
    has other sources of income.
look at the covers experts, they get paid selling picks, so even struggling like a hell , getting 400 $ per month by client, they will survive.
