NEW ORLEANS HORNETS at BOSTON CELTICS

Celtics are on another level and I think they will get up for this game.  David West vs. Garnett… I think Garnett can limit him on D.  Rajon Rondo has been playing well.  Ray Allen and Pierce have stepped up as well, and I think the Boston bench was superb vs. the Wizards. 

The Hornets have stacked up wins vs. some lesser teams on the schedule as well.  I think this is a best test and I will side with the Celtics on this one.

My play is on the Celtics -6.5.

INDIANA PACERS at DETROIT PISTONS

As much as people love Iverson, I don’t think he meshes well with the old, grind it out style offense the Pistons are used to.  The Pacers have lost 4 in a row, but they played the Cavs, Celtics, and had that one win vs. Lakers.  I think they regroup after the Toronto loss.

Detroit has been tinkering with their lineup, and Stuckey and Iverson started together with Kwame Brown not even playing in the game with the Wizards.  They have lost 3 straight to powerhouse teams like the Wizards, Knicks, and Sixers.  I think laying 6 is generous…

Lean on the Pacers +6.0.

SACRAMENTO KINGS at L.A. LAKERS

I think the Kings are one of the teams that matchup well with the Lakers.  Garcia at 6-7 can give Bryant some defense to think about.  The Kings actually have some size to contend with Bynum, Gasol, and Odom.  Miller and Hawes are serviceable, and Mikki Moore and Jason Thompson are able bodies to bang inside.

I think Phil Jackson will have a good gameplan to work around the Kings but I don’t think they can pull off the cover, at least not very easily.  This was evidenced with the Suns and how their zone helped contain the Lakers somewhat.  Plus, the Kings will have some confidence after the 113-101 win a few nights ago.

My play is on the Queens +16.5.
