Kobe is older and slower.  They diss their second and third best players by trying to trade them (Gasol and Odom).  They give Odom away.  The little rookie point guard seems okay-- sorta like Smush Parker.  Remember him?  Metta World Artest is long in the tooth (and I loved him back in the day).  New coach with little experience in handling huge superstars-- aka doing little with Labron.  Zero second unit.   Steve Blake needs to eat a loaf of bread.  Derrick Fisher should retire and run for office.  Matt Barnes isn't Shannon Brown.  That is my question.  Is this the beginning of the end?

Lakers may be down for a year or two, but they will not stay down for long.  They will always be on the short list of teams for any top notch free agent.

I am huge fan of Kobe Bryant and Lakers but if they don't bring Dwight they are done at least for next couple years. I will still be their fan for life.

rookie point guard is darius morris, will not be a smush parker by the time his career is over! Funny how 1 preseason game can make you think the lakers are done

It's gonna be a long year for these Lakers....and very frustrating for Kobe....Watched against Clips last night and saw 5 white guys and I didn't know who they were......On the Lakers?.....Losing Odom was big but I don't like the loss of Brown and his ability to penetrate above the rim either......and Steve Blake???   Still prob a playoff team but likely out in 1st round.....

Lakers' lineup is new now... They are not solid as they were last season with Odom and Shannon Brown gone... They got Josh McRoberts and Troy Murphy to replace Odom =))

Well Let's just see this coming season.

That game was irrelevant.

The answer became yes when Bynum started throwing bows and the Lakers gave a crappy effort against the Hornets last year in the playoffs and got swept by the Mavs.  The Phil era is gone, just because Mike Brown is the coach doesn't make them contenders again.  What kind of logic is trading off the sole member of the bench that was holding everything together to the team that swept you in the playoffs this year.  That trade was the topping on the cake.  There is a high probability that the Clippers will own a better record than them at the end of the regular season.

Lakers are going to have to go back to the drawing boards and think about the future.

Lakers will probably make use of Luke Walton to replace Mitch Kupchek when they drop out of the playoffs

Dipshit dosn't have an idea how to pick up a decent guard

Clippers win the division

lewlew, i don't want to take away from your laker fandom.  and if they turn out to be good, i hope we win money with them.   but i agree: it appears they're angling for dwight.  the diss to lamar and ultimately losing him appears to have dimmed their light.  i think the lakers miss jordan farmar-- a younger, grittier better change of pace to derek fisher than steve blake.

i don't think the lakers are done.  they are easily a 50 (in a normal 82 regular seson); but they appear to have dropped a huge notch-- a level of the old dallas team that couldn't get over the hump.  sorry for the huge diss on darius morris.  he may be good; but in my brief glimpse the brandon knight, kiri irving and kemba looked better-- not to mention the kid with the funny name on the knicks.  but we'll learn soon enough about the new lakers on christmas day.  chicago is an excellent measuring stick.

ditto joe washington of oklahoma and washington redskins fame, i hardly understand the letting go of shannon brown for practically nothing.

barring injury, the clippers are stacked!  just look at their guard rotation.  totally agree!

i can tell your a laker fan, so i'm sorry to agree with you without the hyperbole.  but the kupchak signing of steve blake and matt barnes are highly suspect with hindsight.
