Heat Check: Celtics @ Heat

Small play on the Celtics.

.5 units at -2.5

Rolling with the hot team again tonight. This team showed signs of putting it together on the road. I watched their games against the Rockets and Spurs, and though they lost both, it was not for a lack of effort. The Rockets hit 18 3's against them (shooting 40%) and the Spurs 14 (shooting 50%), and many of those were tough shots and/or from a great distance. Not sure Miami can duplicate that kind of shooting tonight. If they can, they'll likely win.

Celtics are a deep team and the box score shows that nobody played more than 20 minutes or so last night. So I think they'll be good in that regard. Motivation is the only question here, but I think the game being on national TV should be enough to get their attention (though that was not the case with the Pistons last night, who could not look more disinterested).

The Celtics expended a lot of energy leading the Pacers wire to wire last night. They are not that good away from home and not that good in back to back situations. On top of all that, there are only 4 games today and this game is on TNT. Heat or no play for me.

Actually I will tease Mia up to +6.5 and Den down to -2. Also a small play.

expended a lot of energy? Like BB said, no Celtics player played more than 30 minutes last night

& since we are wild guessing on motivation here, i wonder what young black millionaires in miami will be thinking about...the "national TV" game, or the pus-sy awaiting them after it...

Celtics are a .500 team on the road. Heat, on the other hand, are worse with a 43% home winning percentage. Also, it doesn't strike me that they are currently in a major funk and only have wins against Cavs (twice) and six point victory against a bad road Wizards team.

I would personally go Celtics or no play here.

When I say expend alot of energy I mean it’s very hard to beat a team wire to wire which the Celtics did yesterday and come out with the same focus and intensity the next game.

The Heat a bad team? They recently beat the Bucks & Rockets at home! One of the best teams in the East and a contender in the West.

If we wanna get down to percentages, Celtics are 2-4 in back to back games, thus making them 33%. That's lower than the Heat's 43% win percentage at home.

There's a reason why BB is making this play only half a unit when he slammed 5 units on them yesterday.

Either way, may the best bet win

True, only because I can't gauge motivation in this spot. If they are motivated, they win. If not, they lose.
