Lin was born and raised in America and his parents are from Taiwan not China. ( Yao Ming is from China) I'm just feeling proud as we had a similar background. I'm not a Knicks fan , just cheering for Lin !! Look to fade the Knicks if he's not the PG of this team

Taiwan china same thing ok. The chinese people are claiming him, the nab will market him as being chinese and if he ever wants to start in the all star game he better put him self as chinese. Shiiiiiet

Wikipedia says his parents are from Taiwan and his grandmother is from China. All I know is most of the Taiwanese friends I've had told me that they don't like to be called Chinese. But Chinese people seem to say Taiwanese are the same.

Nope. Taiwan and China are not the same thing. No point in getting political in here, but grouping Taiwanese and Chinese together is like grouping Americans and the British together. Not happening...
