NBA YTD: 3-1 (+3.85 units)
I'll start documenting my NBA picks here. I'm a small-time bettor (1 unit = $10) so my risked wager is totally not the same as most of the posters/lurkers in Covers. I just want to provide my insights on the sport I love the most. Tail/fade at your own risk.
NBA picks for tonight:
Philadelphia +4.5 @ Houston
- Philly is actually good in games after a loss. Looking for them to bounce back tonight against Houston who is not good defensively
- Not worried that this is the tail-end of a B2B series for the Sixers. They have a deep bench, one of the best in the league
- I look for them to consciously limit their turnovers tonight. They were sloppy yesterday.
- The Rockers are not that good coming off wins especially that blowout win against the Nuggets. Let down game for them.
- In these types of situations, I always back the team who plays better defense. Philadelphia exerts more effort on the defensive end than the Rockets.
Wager: 1.65 units to win 1.5 units
Denver @ Milwaukee ML (-125)
- 3rd game in 4 nights for the Nuggets, all on the road
- Revenge game for the Bucks as they lost to the Nuggets earlier this season at the Pepsi Center
- Denver is piss poor on the road
- Milwaukee's actually not bad as their record suggests. They're plagued by injuries but as long as they have their main guys in (Jennings, Bogut, Delfino, Salmons), they're formidable and tough to beat at home
- Milwaukee's main problem stems with having no offensive firepower. I don't think it would be a problem tonight as Denver plays lackadaisical defense.
- You can always count on Milwaukee's defense to show up every single night. They play hard all the time. They're just lacking the firepower needed to actually win many games. Denver is the opposite. Too much firepower but doesn't bring the effort every single night.
