By now if you've read my threads, you know I look at games from a way different perspective than most gamblers. Sometimes it lines my pockets but mostly I hope it awakens an idea/thought in your head that maybe you never considered.
I'm always curious about certain dates/events in the NBA season that sort of mark a chapter. The trade deadline is time stamp b/c it sort of marks the halfway point of the season where teams make big moves or stand pat right before the ASB. So I dug in and found an interesting thing: the worst teams in the League, the bottom feeders, hurtling their way to the bottom draft lottery have their best stretch of their season this week before the trade deadline. I found that intriguing.
Last season the deadline was Thurs Feb 8th. Leading up to that deadline and during that week, the Jazz/Nets/Hornets/Wiz/Pels were different teams and pulled off miraculous upsets out of the blue. The 10-win Jazz beat Orlando/Golden State/1pt loss to Pacers/and OT loss to Phx. They were heavy dogs in all those. The 14-win Nets reeled off wins against Charlotte/Houston twice!/and Miami. Hornets lost a 3pt game to Nuggets and beat Spurs, The 6-win Wizards beat Wolves/Cha/Nets/and went toe to toe w Cavs. The Pels lost by 1 to Mavs/ 2 to Celtics/and 3 at Kings.
This year trade deadline is this Thurs Feb 5th. We have Bucks/Pacers/Nets/Wiz/Jazz/Pels/Kings all catching big points in spots they aren't even supposed to compete in.
Something to tuck away in your pocket and remember year to year. More intel you have the better. Good luck bettors!
Note: Magic/Spurs today, Spurs didn't leave Charlotte until a flight this am so will most likely go straight to arena to play Magic who have been in San Antone since yesterday.

Denver too is hard to pass up. Jokic not missing a beat.. and okc is i think just dragging themselves until the all star break with injuries.
I don't know Paulie. OKC off 2 days rest and an embarrassing loss to Minny, what's Thunder record and TT score off 2 days rest? Joker w a stellar performance against a Clips team that was listless the whole game. Seems too easy to take Nuggs and the points. Feels like an OKC throttling of Denver to me on prime time.

yes sir, let's get em! Utah is a good place to start at Toronto. Raps will have to push all game as they've now lost 2 big leads 2nd halves, so I like Jazz and the points and their TT over in this one. Nets catch Pistons coming off a roadie where they played Nuggs/Phx/Ws and have Nuggs on deck, if Porter and Cam play this could be a close game maybe OT as I can't imagine Detroit gets up for Brooklyn here. Best of luck Logic.

Took Orlando over night, as they are playing better with Suggs back in the line up and bad b to b spot that the spurs are in, probably will fire first half also gonna run a query about them. Very interesting about the teams leading up to trade deadlines, Schroeder traded last night, checked his last game he 1-11 against Boston. Feel like Washington is also in a bad spot with injuries.
