As I am winding down another sesaon that looks like it will leave some red ink on the ledger (
), I wonder if I am playing to much chalk on these matchups as being on the wrong end of 6 more matchups than I've won have me 11.62 units down. So just for fun, I'm going to track the record of dogs vs. faves over the last 4 races. The "stick and ball" sports have this info readily available for research, but it's tough in racing because different books can match up whatever drivers they want. I mainly play the Greek, so that's what I'll track. For the purpose of this experiment, the only matchups that will count will be ones where the matchup is -125 vs. +100 or higher. Of the Greeks 21 choices, 18 qualify for this week. Cut and paste to follow for record keeping.

I'm thinking that even though it might seem unappealing, that if you'd play nothing but dogs you'd do quite well. Just too many crashes, engine failures, etc. that seem to pop up every week and burn you. But we'll see.
