What are you thoughts on Madonna's talent, career and music? At least 30 to answer.

Simply amazing in my book. I actually met her once on her own back lawn in Miami (alone), visiting her neighbor, but that had nothing to do with what I thought of her music over the years and the story of her life as she described to me... I complimented her for her candor..
Real talent I thought anyway.

I'm not hip with anything to do with Madonna. She got her break with her risque clothes and antics. I guess she would be more of an entertainer. This may sound old fashioned, but I have a lot of respect for "true" musicians. . those people that actually play instruments. They write the song's words, and they write out the music lyrics, with a lot of rehearsing. There's something to be said for that. I might be mistaken, but I don't think Madonna knows how to play any musical instrument. Now if you wanna talk about chicks that play music, how about Joan Jett, Lita Ford, Pat Benetar, the Wilson sisters(Heart) to name a few.

Marketing genius, re-inventing herself every 5 years or so. Have to admit i pulled it out when she did "Like A Virgin" on the MTV music awards 17 years ago. What a hot performance.

The Ray of Light album just blew me away. She is what you call a "triple threat" because she can sing, act and dance.
I don't own much of her stuff, but respect the shit out of her as an artist.
She looked alot better in her younger days when she had some meat on her bones. Actually, she was fine as hell back then but now looks a bit gaunt to me.

her english accent is ridiculous. her husband's use of Lucky Star in the Snatch soundtrack worked great. I'm not a huge fan...she was hot when she was younger but now its a bit much.
i hate pop music and i cant stand celebrites who are consumed with their own feelings of self importance...she is that

Good summary, KOAJ. Her music=someone else is making it. Her dancing=someone else choreographs it. Her acting=someone else coaches her. Way OVERRATED. That's why I've always admired people who play their own music, write the lyrics and play the instruments. In today's day and age, it's everywhere, from "boy bands", "pop princesses", hip hop and rap. None of these people would know anything about muscial instruments, but they're put on a pedestal by the media and you see them everywhere. No substance. What's even worse is there are all the impressionable people out there buying their stuff and supporting them.

I have to give this woman respect . She knows how to create controvery and those people who do make the most cash in the entertainment industry. I always liked her music but i especially liked Ray of Light cd. I also loved the way she spoke her mind; the I dont give a shit what you say about me i know i am a great entertainer and she is no doubt about it. I don't care if a singer doesnt' write their own music or play an instrument as long as they can sing and she can sing her ass off.

Sing her ass off?
"Like a virgin, touch for the very first time . ." Right, I'm with you now. . . .
Yeah. .
"Star light, star bright. . "
I had my doubts, but I see where you're coming from now.
As long as she can sing?
With substance in her song lyrics, too, right? I see where you're coming from now.

i tell you what. i am a fan of madonna's music (yeah, yeah... she didn't write or play instruments, i know. i'm a musician and this usually bothers me). HOWEVER, i really dig madonna's songs. they are classics nowadays.
I dig madonna's songs like i dig michael jackson's songs. i mean, come on, who doesn't like "billie jean"? just like know one should not like "into the groove".
talk shit about the people, but the songs are classics and rightfully so.

Those songs are classics? Rightfully so? Yeah, they should be up there with Stairway to Heaven.
Yeah. . . Madonna got to where she's at because of her risque clothing and her antics, with MTV putting her all over the waves. Talent? Riiight
Go tell that to Pat Benetar, Chrissie Hynde, Joan Jett, Ann & Nancy Wilson, etc. Not talking shit, just the truth.

I am definitely not a fan of hers but there is no denying that she has brains as well as a bunch of talent.
I'd like to sink her with my pink torpedo.

Well, I wasn't necessarily referring to classic rock, although the names I mentioned might suggest it. It was more of examples of women that have exemplified talent in terms of being musically talented, who do it all: song writing, music lyric writing, playing, leading, etc. That makes them complete musicians, unlike you know who

If you don't believe that Madonna isn't one of the biggest female musicians of the last 20 years, then I don't know what to tell you. Her album sales speak for itself. She is always in the news, and even crossed over into making a couple of movies.

Well, PocketJacks, she is not a musician, and if you belive that Madonna IS a musician, I don't know what to tell you. One of the biggest female musicans? That is a true insult to the fine women musicians I mentioned above. Last time I checked, she plays only with herself. She might sell albums, that's fine. And if you don't realize that she got her start by wearing risque lingerie with the antics that went with it(along with MTV putting her all over the air), and later on with her "political statements", go back into your archives. Besides the fact that her songs have no substance(see the references I made above), ironically, her acting has no substance. Sorry if that puts a damper on your perspective.
